James L.C. Meyers officially announced his campaign for East Ridge City Council on Thursday, July 30, during an event at The Spot Event Center in East Ridge.
The campaign kickoff brought together residents, community leaders, and supporters to hear Meyers share his vision for the future of East Ridge. The event marked the beginning of a campaign focused on responsive leadership, community involvement, and addressing the opportunities and challenges facing the city.
“My goal isn’t simply to hold office, it’s to continue a legacy of building a city that is financially strong, well-maintained, and deeply connected, where families want to live, businesses want to invest, and every neighborhood has the opportunity to thrive,” said Meyers.
“I believe I am uniquely qualified and positioned to help East Ridge recognize the beauty it already has and realize the potential it has for the future. I want to give back to this community, to this city, by working for you and with you, rooted in tradition and growing into the future,” said Meyers.
In his address to attendees, Meyers presented four campaign goals: strengthening East Ridge’s independence, protecting and improving Infrastructure, growing East Ridge’s sports economy, and strengthening East Ridge neighborhoods.
Meyers has built a reputation for working hard and serving others. Meyers says his campaign will focus on listening to East Ridge residents, supporting responsible growth, and ensuring city government remains accessible and accountable to the community.
“I have witnessed firsthand that James is a devoted family man, East Ridge business owner, and an active member of our community who is passionate about bringing a brighter future for the city of East Ridge,” said Carolyn Tucker, East Ridge resident.
Throughout his campaign, Meyers plans to meet with residents, neighborhood groups, business owners, and community organizations to learn more about their priorities and discuss his goals for serving on the East Ridge City Council.

James L. C. Meyers is a lifelong real estate professional, small business owner, and community leader running for East Ridge City Council. Born in East Ridge and raised in the Chattanooga area, James has proudly called East Ridge home for the past nine years, where he and his family are deeply rooted in the community.
