July 16 Police Briefs

The following information was compiled from “pass along reports” furnished by the administration of the East Ridge Police Department.

July 14 Day Shift

21-010035- 1471 Mack Smith Road (Total Health)- Suspicious Person-

The caller advised a skinny male was tampering with the electrical box and yelling at trees. Once on scene police located and spoke to Michael Martin. He was checked for warrants and issued a criminal trespass warning.

21-010041- 3600 Ida Belle Lane- Burglary in Progress-

The caller advised he arrived at his vacant property and found an unknown male in the attic. Once on scene police contacted the male and identified him as Mark Harden. He was taken into custody and charged accordingly.

21-010043- 715 South Lovell Avenue- Suspicious Activity-

The anonymous caller advised of a large tent on the property and loud music playing. Once on scene police spoke with the property owner. He advised they were preparing for a wedding.

21-010052- 5707 Ringgold Road (Dollar General)-

The business staff reported a homeless male had been in the restroom for approximately two hours cleaning himself and his clothes. Once on scene police located Daniel L. walking outside of the store. Daniel stated he had used the bathroom and was willing to leave the area without incident. The man was not trespassed from the business as he frequently shops in the store and always pays for his items.

 Night Shift

3400 Claremont Dr. / DUI Arrest (21-010078):

Larry Bishop was arrested for DUI & Driving w/o a license following a traffic stop at this location.

6407 Ringgold Road / Intoxicated Party (21-010073):

Michael Martin was arrested for public intoxication, evading arrest, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and retaliation for past action after police were notified that he was running into traffic and approaching vehicles in the street.

3132 Bimini Place / Assault:

Victim stated that a Nissan Xterra was double parked at the apartments on the third level.  He didn’t feel that he could squeeze his work van by the Nissan so he asked his neighbors if they could move the vehicle to let him by.  An argument broke out where an unknown Hispanic male threw a beer bottle at the work van striking the tire.  The victim exited the vehicle and confronted the Hispanic male.  The victim stated that a juvenile Hispanic male then approached and struck him in the right arm leaving a bruise and swollen spot on his forearm.  The victim and two female witnesses identified a juvenile male as the suspect.  Police took the juvenile into custody and transported to the Hamilton County JDU.  21-010075.

4902 Maryland Dr. / Domestic Assault (21-010083):

Bonnie Gilreath was arrested after she assaulted her husband when he tried to prevent her from grabbing a knife to “go after” their son.

3400 Bennett Rd / Arrest: (21-010065)

Charlie Garner was taken into custody for driving an unregistered vehicle after he refused to sign a traffic citation.

5517 Ringgold Rd. / Arrest: (21-010084)

Thomas Ellis was taken into custody for paraphernalia and resisting following a business check at this location.
