July 22 Police Briefs

The following information was compiled from “pass along reports” provided by the East Ridge Police Department.

July 20 Day Shift

Citizen Request-

A citizen came by the office today requesting an extra patrol in the 5300 blk of State Line Road due to speeding motorcycles. The RP advised this is occurring in the evenings around 2100 to 2200 hours.

21-010309- 941 Spring Creek Road (Parkridge East)- Disorder-

The caller advised of a white male in a wheelchair harassing people in the parking lot and refusing to leave. Once on scene police spoke to the man. He was transported to several locations per his request with the final one being at a local hospital. Police spoke with the man’s wife and advised her of his whereabouts.

21-010316- 5700 Roper Street- Auto Theft-

Police spoke with the complainant. He advised an unknown suspect(s) stole his silver 2004 Chevy Suburban between 1300 hours on 7/17/20 and 1100 hours on 7/20/21.  The vehicle was entered in NCIC.

21-010319- 815 Poindexter Avenue- Theft-

The caller requested a phone call regarding a missing garbage can. Police spoke with the caller and provided him with a complaint number.

21-010326- 1417 Mack Smith Road (Retirement Center)- Suspicious Person-

The caller advised a homeless male was observed sleeping behind the building. Once on scene police spoke to the male and advised him to move along.

Night Shift

7809 Standifer Gap Road / Arrest-Warrant-Domestic Assault:

Isaiah Jamal Simmons was arrested on a domestic assault warrant.  21-008032

6514 Ringgold Road / Gas Leak:

East Ridge Fire Department discovered a gas leak at Mapco after a rental truck struck a pump. Approximately 40-50 gallons of gas had leaked out into the sewer drain. East Ridge Fire notified the proper authorities for the contamination and police completed a report for property damage. 21-010337

631 Camp Jordan Parkway, Jonathan’s Grill / Arrest-TPO Violation:

Oliver Milligan Spence was arrested for violation his conditions for release.  21-010338

915 South Seminole / Aggravated Assault:

Police were called in reference to a disorder with a weapon at this location. It was discovered Roger Bell had used a firearm to threaten his children’s mother and gain her compliance during an argument. Bell was arrested for Aggravated Domestic Assault and Interference with 911. The firearm was placed into East Ridge Police Department’s Property Room.  21-010347

5725 Ringgold Road / Arrest-Drugs and Guns:

Michael Jones Jr was arrested for possession of marijuana for resale, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop.  21-010355
