July 30 Police Briefs

The following information was compiled from “pass along reports” furnished by the administration of the East Ridge Police Department.

July 29 Day Shift

 4030 Dellway Circle-

Verbal disorder between a woman and her boyfriend over him punching himself and attempting to cut himself. The boyfriend was gone prior to police arrival and could not be located.

Germantown/Old Ringgold Rd-

Passerby requested that police check on a 8-10 year-old male who was walking with an adult at this location. Police checked with the parties and everything was fine. The child did not appear to be in any type of distress.

1100 Spring Creek-

Caller advised that an unknown b/m walked onto her porch and refused to leave. Once on scene, the unknown party had already left the area.

3715 Ringgold Rd-

Food City staff requested a report after one customer threatened to kill another customer. Both customers were gone prior to police arrival.

601 Walnut St-

Rick Potter was served with three ER warrants

5300 Ringgold Rd-

Haiku staff called and advised that a John Stella was on the property yelling racial slurs. Stella denied the accusations. Police transported Stella to the greyhound bus terminal at his request. Stella was trespassed Food Lion as well due to aggressive panhandling.

5805 Ringgold Rd-

An unknown w/m came into Baugh Appliance and was checking if the business had security cameras. Party left before police arrival.

6710 Ringgold Rd. –

Complainant called and advised that her daughter was “being beat on” by her step-brother. The male subject was taken into custody for domestic assault

 Night Shift

6100 Ringgold Rd. (arrest):

Shannon Johnson was taken into custody for warrants out of Dade County, GA. While being searched at the Hamilton County Jail, deputies discovered two small baggies weighing over 3.7 grams of suspected methamphetamine. Ms. Johnson was charged with introducing contraband into penal institution, and possession of meth.

1300 S. Seminole Drive/Crash-Arrest-DUI:

Clinton S. Vicente Vicente was arrested for DUI after being involved in a crash.

809 S Germantown Road / Unconscious Person:

Butch Shirley was arrested for DUI/2nd, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia after he was located unconscious in the driver’s seat of a Honda Civic that was at the stop sign.

I-75 Rest Area:

Ravin Riedinger and Gregory Cummings were arrested for public intoxication after security found them wondering about the rest area.

4006 Bennett Rd / Stolen Auto:

The complainant called in and reported her oldest son Miguel Cuevas was in a vehicle which she suspected as stolen. Police checked the vehicle information and found it to be stolen out of East Ridge. However, both the vehicle and her son were gone prior to police arrival. Police completed a supplement report with the added suspect information. Cuevas lives with his grandmother off Haven Hill Ln. Officers checked this area several times throughout the night but were not able to locate the vehicle. 

7700 Ringgold Rd / Information:

Hamilton County located the vehicle believed to be driven by Derick Reed at 7700 Old Lee HWY. (which was found to be stolen).  Reed, who is being sought by police for an alleged Monday morning assault, was not in the vehicle. The white Ford F150 was recovered.

6743 Ringgold Road / MVC DUI:

Tessa Coffey was traveling west bound on Ringgold Road when she left the roadway, struck a pedestrian signal pole, cross two lanes on Frawley Road, ran over the median separating the turn lane and stopped after striking a gas line marker on the west side of Frawley Road.  Police determined that she was intoxicated after she failed to follow instructions during the field sobriety test.  She was arrested for DUI.  Police obtained consent to search her vehicle and located 3.1 grams of marijuana and two pills of Adderall in her wallet.  Police obtained a blood draw after warrant was approved.  Her vehicle was towed by Cannon’s Wrecker.
