Kindergartners Get Free Passes to Creative Discovery Museum

October 6, 2026 By Contributed Article Leave a Comment

The Hamilton County Mayor’s Office, in partnership with Creative Discovery Museum and Hamilton County Schools, is providing every kindergarten student in Hamilton County Schools with a one-time complimentary museum pass, allowing thousands of local students and their families to learn and explore together.

“With five young kids of my own, I’ve seen firsthand how much experiences outside the classroom can spark curiosity and a love of learning,” said Mayor Weston Wamp. “For the fourth year in a row, we’re proud to give every kindergartner in Hamilton County the opportunity to experience the Creative Discovery Museum with their family and enjoy one of the best resources our community has to offer.”

Approximately 3,450 kindergarten students will receive a one-time pass through their schools. Passes will be sent home with students by Friday, October 9, in time for families to use over fall break.

“We are so grateful to continue this amazing partnership with Mayor Wamp’s Office and Hamilton County Schools,” said Tim Sears, President and CEO of Creative Discovery Museum. “Each year we welcome thousands of kindergarten students and their families to the Museum through the Kindergarten Pass program. For many of these families, this pass provides the opportunity to visit for the first time, opening the doors to a childhood of play, learning, and lifelong memories at the Creative Discovery Museum.”

“Connecting kindergarteners and their families to the Creative Discovery Museum is about much more than a trip to the museum,” said Dr. Justin Robertson, Superintendent of Hamilton County Schools. “HCS is part of an ecosystem that supports students from age zero to 25, and kindergarten readiness is one of the most critical transition points across that birth-to-career continuum. Our continued partnership with the Creative Discovery Museum and Mayor Wamp’s Office is a great example of our community taking shared ownership of the experiences that help set students up for long-term success.”

“We are thrilled and honored that Woodmore Elementary was selected as this year’s announcement location for the Creative Discovery Museum passes for our kindergarten students,” said Woodmore Elementary School Principal Dionne Upton. “Experiences like this give our students opportunities to learn beyond the walls of our school and make meaningful connections between what they learn in the classroom and the world around them. We are grateful for this investment in our students and excited to see the lasting impact it can have on their curiosity, confidence, and love of learning.”

Each pass provides free admission for the kindergarten student and up to three guests and is valid through June 30, 2027. Families can also look forward to the Museum’s upcoming Winter Playland exhibit, opening Nov. 7, and Viva Mexico exhibit, opening Jan. 16.
