Law and Order Aug. 17

The following information is courtesy of the East Ridge Police Department.

Day Shift August 16: B Squad

26-007860-1000 BLK Hibbler Circle-Suspicious Person/Arrest – Police were dispatched to the listed address for a male, wearing a white shirt and black pants climbing the fence and running through the yard. Patrol saturated the area and located the subject in a business parking lot. The subject then crossed the street in an attempt to elude law enforcement. The subject ignored a lawful order to stop and fled on foot upon police contact in the discount store parking lot. After a short foot pursuit, he was detained. He stated the reason for his flight was he believed he had outstanding warrants; no warrants were located. The man was then transported to jail and charged with evading arrest.

26-007868 – 4300 BLK Oakdale Avenue – Abandoned Auto – Police were dispatched to this location regarding a white Range Rover that had been left in the middle of the roadway. The vehicle displayed a Tennessee temporary license plate. A check of the temporary registration revealed that the tag did not return to the Range Rover. The temporary license plate appeared to have been altered and was removed from the vehicle. Due to the vehicle being abandoned in the roadway, a district wrecker responded to the scene and towed the vehicle.

Night Shift August 16: D Squad

26-007875-3900 BLK Ringgold Road-Theft – A store employee stated that around 1500 hours, three females came into the store. The caller stated that two of the females distracted the employee and her daughter while the other got behind the counter and stole her purse. The caller stated that the purse contained cash, keys, and other items.

26-007882 – 1400 BLK Saint Thomas Street– Suspicious Person – ERPD responded to the motel regarding a suspicious male who was not a guest on the property. The officer spoke to the individual, who stated he does not stay there but just stopped at a spot where he can get out of his son’s car and smoke his black and mild while he waits for his Whataburger order to be done. The officer ran his name and date of birth, which returned with an active warrant out of Hamilton County. He was placed into custody and transported to Hamilton County Jail.

26-007884 – 5300 BLK Greenbriar Road – Domestic Disorder / Trespass – Officers responded to the above address for a disorder in progress. On scene, officers separated the parties involved. Both parties stated they were in a verbal altercation that led to one removing the other’s items from the residence and placing them into the front yard. The owner gathered her belongings and attempted to regain entry into the residence when the front door became dislodged from the frame and fell onto the floor. The resident declined to pursue charges for the damages but asked that the female be trespassed from his residence.
