Law and Order Feb. 20

Day Shift February 19: B Squad

26-001521- 5300 BLK Dupont Street- Hit and Run – Police spoke with a woman in reference to a hit and run that occurred the night prior. She admitted she was driving the vehicle while intoxicated and stated she did not know who or what she struck. She further advised she was arrested later that evening by the Chattanooga Police Department for public intoxication.

26-001538 – 100 BLK Cecil Lane– Mental Crisis – Police responded to the above address and met with a man who advised he wanted someone to listen to him regarding personal issues involving his family. He denied having suicidal thoughts and declined medical assistance. Officers spoke with him and helped develop a plan to continue cleaning his residence, which he stated he had been working on throughout the day. The party did not express or display any intent to harm himself or others.

Night Shift February 19 : D Squad

26-001551/26-001557 – 100 BLK Cecil Lane/4300 BLK Bennett Road- Aggravated Domestic/Carrying Weapons on School Property/Arrest – Police responded to a reported psychiatric emergency at East Ridge High School, where a male called from the 100 BLK of Cecil Lane and stated he was at ERHS, armed, but would drop his gun for responding officers. At the same time, a female called in from Cecil Lane, stating her boyfriend had beaten her and held a gun to her head, and she was able to escape and call 911. The two calls were determined to be the same incident. Police responded to the high school and detained the male. Police recovered his firearm nearby, which was found to be loaded and chambered. After interviewing the victim, the man was charged with aggravated domestic assault and carrying weapons on school property. The victim also voluntarily surrendered several additional firearms from the residence, which were placed into property and evidence for safekeeping.

26-001555 – 800 BLK Dunlap Avenue – Well-Being Check – Police performed a well-being check after receiving an unknown 911 call with a female crying in the background. Police spoke with two residents who were watching television and explained that the phone call was accidental.

26-001556-Domestic Disorder-2100 BLK Dugan St – Police responded to the listed address for a reported disorder after the caller stated he was almost struck by a vehicle. The party stated that following an altercation between him and his brother, the suspect attempted to hit him with his white Chevy Malibu while driving at a high rate of speed. The suspect was gone before police arrived on the scene; a warrant for Aggravated Assault (Domestic) was sought.

26-001558 – 600 BLK Camp Jordan Parkway– Disorder – The manager called to report that a customer was trying to drive home drunk. ERPD was able to locate the party arguing with the manager in the parking lot. The woman was slurring her speech and was having a hard time maintaining her balance. She continued to yell as ERPD tried to talk to her. The woman was placed under arrest for public intoxication and transported to Hamilton County Jail.

26-001561 – 3700 BLK Fountain Avenue – Suspicious Vehicle – A resident requested for police to check a suspicious gray vehicle with occupants who were smoking in the parking lot. Police checked the area and observed nothing suspicious.
