The Chattanooga Police Department (CPD) responded to a single-vehicle crash that resulted in a fatality early Sunday morning.
At approximately 3:35 a.m. on December 14, 2025, officers were dispatched to 181 Interstate 24-E for a single-vehicle crash and vehicle fire.
The Chattanooga Police Department’s Traffic/DUI Unit responded to conduct the investigation. Preliminary findings indicate the vehicle left the roadway to the right and struck a guardrail, causing the vehicle to rotate. The vehicle was redirected into a tree and came to a final rest against a fence. The vehicle ignited, and the driver was unable to be extracted. The driver was pronounced dead on the scene.
The Chattanooga Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire. The identity of the driver is unknown at this time.
