Pioneers Down Pounders

East Ridge evened its record to 4-4 on the year with a 48-34 win over Central, Friday at Raymond James Stadium.

Keanu Johnson led the way for the Pioneers rushing for four touchdowns and amassing more than 250 yards on 17 carries. Among Johnson’s scores were runs of 66 and 53 yards.

Jaylen Boykin rushed for two touchdowns, both from 13 yards out and finished the night with 84 yards rushing. Cameron Sanders got in on the scoring with a 37-yard touchdown jaunt of his own. He finished with 104 yards rushing on the evening.

All told, the Pioneers ground game accounted for almost 500 yards of offense.

The Pioneers will host Sequoyah this coming Friday.
