East Ridge High School’s boys’ soccer team made it three wins in as many matches, as it downed McMinn Central, 5-1, Friday.

The win in the Soddy-Daisy Invitational Tournament improved the Pioneers’ record to 3-0 on the young season. Today East Ridge will face the Patriots (a home school team) and 11:45 a.m., and then tee it up against Tyner at 3 p.m.

The match was never much in question as East Ridge jumped out to a 4-0 halftime lead. Rijad Kazic had two goals, while Adam Adem, Fadhil Al Hadeethi and Rudy Paxtor-Gomez rounded out the scoring. Kazic picked up two assists, while Peter Vicente Itzep and Erik Lopez were also credited with assists.

The Pioneers out-shot the Chargers, 14-2.
