Police Briefs Feb. 4

The following information was compiled from ERPD “pass along” reports.

Feb. 3 Day Shift

3301 Gleason Circle-

Victim reported he had an air compressor taken from his truck. No suspect info.

Winston Baccus was taken into custody for violation of conditions of release following a traffic stop

6712 Ringgold Rd – Arrest –

Steven Nave and Jessica Baliles were arrested on outstanding East Ridge warrants. Parties were transported to the Hamilton County Jail.

6514 Ringgold Rd – Mapco – Theft –

William Charles Ransom (w/m) was issued a citation in lieu of arrest for theft after he walked out of the Mapco with a bag of Frito chips and some Hot Pockets. Mr. Ransom was also trespassed from the property at the request of the employee, due to all of theft occurring in the store.

412 S. St Marks Ave-

Stanley Hale advised sometime within the last week his parents’ house was entered. A statue of Caesar, a blue peddle truck, and a set of Wilson gold clubs were taken. No suspect info at this time.

3903 Weldon Dr-

Victim stated that he sent multiple gift cards to a fraudulent Venmo account resulting in a loss of $2,200.

3715 Ringgold Rd-

Toni Stewart was taken into custody for public intoxication

6514 Ringgold Rd-

The complainant reported that he lost 12 methadone pills sometime on 2-2-20 at around possibly 16:00 hours.

Night Shift

1914 Gunbarrel Road / Warrant service:

Megan Skates was taken into custody on an East Ridge warrant at this location by CPD. Ms. Skates has no bond.

1400 Spring Creek Road / Warrant:

Mathew Hughes was found to have felony warrants through Hamilton County following a traffic stop at this location. Hughes was taken into custody and transported to the Hamilton County Jail.

1400 San Hsi / Arrest:

James Brummitt was taken into custody following a traffic stop at this location. Brummitt was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Brummitt was also found to have an active warrant through East Ridge for narcotics violations. Brummitt received citations for his traffic violations and was transported to the Hamilton county Jail without incident.

3713 Ringgold Road / Property-Found:

A woman left her wallet at Subway. Her wallet was returned by police with over $394 in it.

5902 Ringgold Road (Public Storage) / Auto Theft:

Police responded to investigate and auto theft.  Upon arrival, police spoke with the victim who stated that it was discovered around 01/31/2020 that his storage unit, J308, was entered without permission and his white 2004 Coleman Fleetwood Camper was taken.  Police reviewed video of the suspected timeframe of the theft and nothing was discovered.  The Camper was entered into NCIC.  No suspect information is available at this time.

6650 Ringgold Road (La Quinta Inn) / Suspicious Person:

Police respond to LaQuinta Inn to investigate a suspicious black male sitting outside the lobby.  The complainant stated that the male, police identified as James H., continually walked into and out of the hotel lobby.  The hotel clerk also stated that he bothered some of the hotel customers.  Police spoke with James who stated that he went into the lobby to inquire about the room rates just as he did next door at the Quality Inn and Suites.  He stated that he was waiting to obtain a ride to the bus terminal on 23rd Street in Chattanooga.  Police contacted Millennium Taxi to transport him to the terminal.  LaQuinta Inn staff requested for James be trespassed from their property in which he was notified of such prior to his departure.
