Police Briefs for April 13

The following information was compiled from “pass along reports” provided by the East Ridge Police Department.

April 10 – Day Shift

4214 Ringgold Road (child abuse):

A coordinator with Hamilton County Virtual School, reported suspected child abuse. She stated the school had received an alert through a computer program showing emails of alleged abuse. She stated she and the school counselor have already submitted a report to CPS. (21-004840)

3725 Fountain Avenue (theft):

The complainant reported the theft of her black, semi-auto Taurus G3C 9mm handgun and a box of ammunition from her apartment sometime after 03/25/2021. The complainant did not have any suspect information and claimed she has not had any visitors in her apartment. The firearm was entered into NCIC. (21-004824)

1118 Greens Lake Road (disorder):

Police responded to this location after a concerned citizen reported a disorder involving a black male and a white male in a silver car on the property while smoking marijuana. Police located a light blue Lincoln Town Car occupied by a very much asleep Malcolm C. (driver) and his passenger, James A. After waking both the parties they claimed they had stopped at this location on their way to Chattanooga from Cleveland. No narcotics were detected in the vehicle and neither party had a valid driver’s license. The subjects were advised to contact a ride to remove them from the property. (21-004837).

April 10 – Night Shift

4300 block Greenbriar Rd (Unknown 911 21-004845):

A caller stated her boyfriend, Robert Perkins, was arrested last night for domestic assault in Chattanooga. She stated he was sitting in front of her house in a blue Chevrolet truck. Officers filed to have Perkins’ bond revoked. Perkins was encountered later in the shift and taken into custody for driving while suspended and violation of an order of protection.

1417 St Thomas St (Disorder 21-004851):

Members of ERFD station 2 requested police respond to the Motel 6 on a disorder. Officers arrived and made contact with a male and female who stated the argument was verbal only.

724 Frawley Rd (Suspicious Person 21-004852):

Officers responded to a suspicious person on the porch of this address. Police arrived and made contact with Maurice E. The man explained he was merely looking for something to eat because he had not had any food in a few days. He also told officers he was trying to make his way back to Knoxville. Officers were able to secure some food for  Maurice and transport him to the Greyhound bus station in Chattanooga.

6600 Ringgold Rd (Crash 21-004864):

Officers responded to a crash with possible injuries. Parties involved in the crash were traveling home to Indiana from Florida. Officers assisted the family in getting a motel room for the evening.

1503 McDonald Rd (Overdose 21-004869):

Police responded to the Waverly Motel on report of an apparent Heroin overdose. A female subject was revived after officers administered NARCAN. She was transported to Parkridge East Hospital for treatment. A male subject was taken into custody for tampering with evidence and transported to the Hamilton County Jail. He began to show signs of overdose and was diverted to Parkridge Hospital. Warrants will be sought for his arrest.

 April 11 – Day Shift

601 Walnut Street (warrant service):

Miranda Pace was served with an East Ridge warrant for theft of property.  (21-003193)

5330 Ringgold Road (fire alarm):

An area resident called police due to a fire alarm which has been going off all night at the building site of the new Honda dealership. Officers found several open doors. East Ridge Fire was unable to stop the alarm, and dispatch was unable to reach a responsible party. (21-004894)

 April 11 – Night Shift

 4222 Ringgold Rd (Arrest 21-004906):

Mickey Shurette was taken into custody for public intoxication after officers observed him acting erratically in the parking lot of Speedway.

3824 Ringgold Rd (Suspicious Person 21-004910):

Officers responded to reports of a male subject laying on the sidewalk at this location. Police made contact with the party who stated he was homeless, had walked from Dalton and hadn’t eaten since Saturday. Officers purchased a pizza for the subject and sent him on his way.

100 I75N (Fail to Stop 21-004925):

Police initiated a traffic stop on a black 2021 Toyota Camry on I75 N close to the welcome center. The vehicle accelerated to a high rate of speed instead of stopping. It was last seen travelling onto I24 W at the I75 split.

1408 Mana Lane (21-004927):

Shaine Brooks arrested for domestic assault.

John Ross @ Ealy (21-004930):

Carlos Castanon arrested for DUI.
