Police Briefs for April 7

The following information was compiled from ERPD “pass along reports.”

April 5 Day Shift

3700 block Fountain Avenue (threats):

A woman stated her son was threatened by a juvenile. She requested extra patrols at her complex. (22-004708)

200 block Eads Street (domestic assault):

A woman reported that her boyfriend assaulted her and left with her car keys and cell phone. She declined to write a statement and advised that she just wanted her keys and cell phone back and for her boyfriend to not return to her apartment. A warrant was sought for domestic assault. (22-004688)

900 block Spring Creek Road (mental illness):

Parkridge East hospital staff called police when a naked male patient ran out of the hospital. Parkridge advised the man had a signed CON and was due for transport to a mental health facility. Police were able to locate him near Prater Road and Spring Creek Road. Police got into a short foot chase with the subject before he was apprehended without incident. He was transported back to the hospital. (22-004715)

 Night Shift

1500 block McDonald Road (Suspicious person 22-004726):

Police were called to Life Care Center of East Ridge regarding a white vehicle that was parked partially on the sidewalk and grass area. The reporting party stated there was someone inside the vehicle. Upon arrival, the driver refused commands to roll down his window or exit the vehicle. Due to concerns the driver may have been suffering from a medical emergency, police busted the window and forced entry. The driver was taken out of the vehicle with no further incident. EMS arrived and transported the male party to Parkridge East. Warrants will be sought for public intoxication and resisting stop halt frisk. The vehicle was towed by Broome’s.

1400 block Mack Smith Road (theft 22-004723):

Police were dispatched to the Budgetel regarding a dispute of ownership of a dog. Police spoke with all parties involved. The neighbors who were watching the dog gave it back to the owners. This appears to be an ongoing issue regarding the owner abandoning the dog and the neighbor having to take care of it. I Instructed the neighbor to call animal services if it happens again.

4200 block Ringgold Road (Arrest 22-004735):

Following a hit and run crash investigation, police were able to locate the suspect vehicle and driver. William Lambert was taken into custody for DUI, possession of a firearm while intoxicated, and leaving the scene of an accident.

1400 block Mack Smith Rd (DOA 22-004719):

Police along with EMS and Firefighters were called to this location for an unresponsive person. Upon arrival police discovered an unresponsive person and despite officers’ attempts to save the life of said person, EMS pronounced the person deceased. A report is on file and the investigation is ongoing.

6500 block Ringgold Rd (drug arrest 22-004736):

Police arrested a man for possessing meth and drug paraphernalia after he was observed to be parked in a handicap spot. He also had active arrest warrants from Indiana for possession of cocaine.

5400 block Ringgold Road (AOA/Warrant Service 22-004733):

Police encountered two parties, a man and woman, standing outside Valero gas station after hours. The woman was found to have an active Collegedale warrant. She was transported to Silverdale.

3500 block Land Street (Aggravated Assault 22-004721):

A subject was arrested for Aggravated Assault after police were dispatched to an assault in-progress at this location.

4214 Ringgold Road (Warrant Service 22-004720):

Jerimi Ricketts was taken into custody by Soddy Daisy for an outstanding East Ridge Warrant. Police met with Soddy Daisy and transported Ricketts to Silverdale without incident.

4400 block Ringgold Road (Disorder/AOA 22-004727):

A man was taken into custody for an outstanding East Ridge warrant following a call for a disorder at this location. No disorder was located.

5000 block South Terrace (Warrant Service 22-004740):

A man was taken into custody at this location after being observed in the woods looking through trash with a flashlight.
