Police Briefs for Aug. 18

The following information was compiled from ERPD “pass along reports.”

Aug. 16 Day Shift

21-011746- 536 Bluebird Circle- Wires Down-

Police responded with Fire on a wires down call. Once on scene Fire handled the call.

21-011747- 1100 block Chippewah Drive- Disorder-

Reporting party called to report his girlfriend’s mother’s ex-boyfriend, Brandon Boston, was causing a disorder. Once on scene the police found the ex-boyfriend had left the area. Police spoke with all parties on scene and determined a domestic assault had occurred. Warrants will be sought for Brandon Boston.

21-011752- 4320 Bennett Road (East Ridge High School)- School Fire-

Police responded with Fire on another A/C fire in the new gym. Once on scene Fire handled the call.

21-011753- Altamaha Street @ Connell Street- Crash with Entrapment-

Police were dispatched with Fire and EMS on a crash with entrapment. Once on scene Fire was successful in extricating the driver. The other driver fled the scene on foot but was located quickly. He was issued several citations. Both vehicles were towed by East Ridge Auto.

21-011757- 3949 Ringgold Road (Save A Lot)- Suspicious Person-

The caller advised of a suspicious white male in the lot. Once on scene police encountered the man. He was checked for warrants and given a ride to South Crest. 

21-011758- 3330 Ringgold Road (King Audio)-

Police responded to the business and spoke to the owner. He advised they would try and keep the noise down.

11759- 6912 Glen Errol Way- Aggravated Domestic Assault-

Tommesha Reed was arrested for aggravated assault after she hit her boyfriend with a metal tube.  EMS responded to the scene and checked the victim.  Reed was transported to the Hamilton County Jail.

21-011761- 4150 Ringgold Road (Walmart Gas Station)- Hold up Alarm-

Police were dispatched to a silent alarm at the business. It was found to be accidental.

 Night Shift

3220 Gleason Dr. / Auto Theft: 

Police responded to this residence regarding an auto theft. The complainant told officer she went inside her apartment to retrieve some items. When she walked out of her apartment her rental vehicle was gone. The woman told officer she left the vehicle running with the keys in the ignition. The vehicle was entered into NCIC and a BOLO was put out.  21-011775

4214 Ringgold Road / Arrest-Warrant: 

Bond Agents located Jerry Matthews at his residence where they served multiple warrants on him. Police took custody of Matthews at the police department where his warrants were executed. Matthews was transported to Silverdale without incident.  21-011782

300 South Moore Road/ Traffic Stop: 

Police initiated a traffic stop at 400 S. Moore Road for speeding which didn’t come to a stop until reaching this address..  Radar detected vehicle traveling at 48 MPH in a 30 MPH zone.  During traffic stop investigation, police detected an odor of marijuana coming from the main compartment of the vehicle which lead to police obtaining consent to search.  Nothing significant was located from the search.  Police conducted pat down of both male occupants of the vehicle.  Police located in the right pants leg of Keontae Clark; a Taurus TH 9C, 9mm, semiautomatic pistol, teal blue in color.  The firearm confirmed stolen in NCIC.  Clark was taken into custody for possession of stolen property and transported to Hamilton County Jail at Silverdale.  The firearm was removed from NCIC.  A citation was issued to the driver for speeding and driving on Suspended License.  21-011784

Ringgold Rd & S Seminole Dr. / Evading (Felony): 

Police observed a vehicle leaving a residence located at 1029 S Seminole Dr. Police attempted to make a traffic stop on a white Chevy Trailblazer after observing an improper lane change. The vehicle continued through the tunnel and onto the on ramp on Westside Drive. Police deactivated their emergency equipment upon realizing the vehicle was not stopping. Vehicle was BOLO’d to other surrounding agencies. 21-011787

6408 Ringgold Road / Arrest: 

Amanda Fortson was arrested following a traffic stop at this location. Fortson was charged with possession of schedule II narcotics and distribution of marijuana.  21-011790
