Police Briefs for Feb. 19

The following information was compiled from “pass along reports” furnished by the administration of the East Ridge Police Department.

Feb. 17 Day Shift

1100 block Edwin Lane (domestic disorder):

The reporting party called because her ex-boyfriend had come to her home in an attempt to win back her affections by repeatedly knocking on her doors and windows. The RP called 9-1-1, but the ex-boyfriend had left prior to police arrival. The caller was advised on how to obtain an order of protection. (21-002149)

5319 Spriggs Street (property damage):

The resident called police to report his mailbox being struck and knocked down. The resident stated this is the third time this has occurred. The mailbox and supporting pole both had minor damage. (21-002150)

815 Stateline Road (property damage):

A passerby contacted police to report having struck a City of East Ridge garbage can that was left partially in the roadway. (21-002154)

5300 block Oakdale Avenue (verbal disorder):

An elderly female called police complaining her son broke a lamp following an argument about Mountain Dew. The two regularly get into verbal disorders, and the son agreed to leave for a while to allow his mother to cool off. (21-002156)

 Night Shift

3611 Gleason Dr (Burglary 21-002175):

The resident arrived home to find her home had been burglarized. CID responded and processed the scene.

300 Camp Jordan Pkwy (Suspicious Vehicle 21-002185):

While patrolling Camp Jordan police encountered a small SUV occupied by a juvenile male and female. The parties were undressed in the backseat of the vehicle. Parents were notified and they responded to take custody of their children.

4200 Ringgold Rd (Fail To Stop 21-002194):

Officers attempted to stop a stolen 2017 Chevrolet after observing it at the Speedway. The vehicle failed to stop for police. The vehicle was located a short time later unoccupied and running in the parking lot of Lomenacque apartments. While searching the area for potential suspects officers located James Works sitting on the porch of apartment 53. Works matched the description of one of the occupants of the vehicle. He was impaired and in possession of marijuana. The residents at the apartment unit denied knowing Works and were concerned about him being on their porch. He was taken into custody for public intoxication, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

800 block Poindexter Ave (Suicide Threats 21-002197):

Police responded to an 18-year-old male party threatening to slit his own throat. The party was transported by police to Parkridge East for evaluation.

183 I24 EB (Assist Other 21-002201):

Chattanooga Police requested East Ridge Police assist in providing traffic control for multiple crashes on I-24 due to ice on the roadway.
