Police Briefs for Feb. 25

Feb. 23 Day Shift

939 Gerswein Court (theft):

Complainant contacted police to report the theft of the third ash bucket found missing from her grill. The first ash bucket was stolen a week ago, and the second was taken shortly after it was replaced. She noticed the third one missing this morning. (21-002441)

1109 Harvard Street (trespass):

The resident observed on his Ring camera a black male, dressed in black, attempt to open his front door. The suspect walked away toward Welworth Avenue, but police were not able to locate him. (21-002446)

1515 Waterhouse Street (aggravated burglary):

The complainant came home to find someone had been in her home and had stolen several bottles and had dropped a bottle as they left through the back door. The homeowner approached a neighbor, who admitted to entering the residence to look for cigarettes. Warrants are being sought for the neighbor. (21-002457)

 Night Shift

3508 Ringgold Rd (Disorder 21-002469):

The reporting party stated there was a very irate male party at the Walgreen’s causing a disorder with his wife. Officers arrived and located Joseph Ogles who immediately became loud and abusive with police. His actions were causing alarm to parties who were entering and exiting Walgreen’s. Officers tried to deescalate Ogles’ behavior, but Oges’ refused officers directions to calm down and quit yelling. The officers on scene attempted to detain him but he pulled away and refused to present his hands for detention. Police utilized a Taser to gain compliance. Ogles’ was charged with disorderly conduct and transported to the Hamilton County Jail.

Keeble at State Line (BOLO-002470):

Police were requested by Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office to check the area for a suspect in a domestic violence case. Justin Tocknell was later located in Catoosa County and taken into custody on felony domestic violence charges.

5346 Oakdale Ave (Suspicious Activity 21-002471):

Police responded after the homeowner stated someone was throwing rocks at her house. Nothing was located by officers.

323 Camp Jordan Pkwy (Suspicious Person 21-002473):

The reporting party stated there was a homeless male staying in the men’s restroom in the pavilion area. Officers made contact with Benny B. who had set up camp in the men’s restroom. Benny was instructed to go elsewhere.

600 Marlboro Ave (Arrest 21-002475):

Kimberly Brogdon was taken into custody for DUI during a traffic stop.

3605 Wimberly Ln (Suspicious Person 21-002477):

The reporting party stated they saw a male subject jump the fence in their back yard and run toward Mimbro. Nothing was located by officers.

1200 John Ross Rd (Arrest 21-002478):

Jaclyn Hurtado was taken into custody for DUI and simple possession during a traffic stop.

5080 S Terrace (Criminal Trespass 21-002481):

Devereaux Miller-Gothay was located behind the AMC Theater well after the theater closed. He was in the dumpster area using the theater’s water hose to wash multiple pairs of shoes and other items. At the request of theater management Miller-Gothay was issued a trespass warning and told not to return to the property.

6514 Ringgold Rd (Disorder 21-002484):

The night shift clerk at Mapco stated two male parties were in the store asking customers for money and had refused her requests to leave. Police made contact with Eric H. and Timothy James in the restroom. James was taken into custody for public intoxication, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.

941 Spring Creek Rd (Arrest 21-002489):

Officers conducted a traffic stop on a gray Dodge Charger for a registration violation. As officers attempted to make contact with the driver he fled at a high rate of speed through the parking lot of Parkridge East, nearly striking an officer. Police saturated the area and located the vehicle unoccupied in the 5800 block of Welworth Ave. A perimeter was established and officers began checking a number of outbuildings for the suspect. The suspect, Kyle Housley, was observed by police as he exited a wooded lot onto Welworth Ave at Yale St. Housley was taken into custody and charged with driving while suspended, DUI, reckless endangerment, aggravated assault and evading arrest. Housley was also found to have active warrants through Soddy Daisy and Rhea County.
