Police Briefs for July 23

The following information was compiled from “pass along reports” provided by the ERPD.

July 21 Day Shift

400 block McBrien Road (shots fired):

Police checked the area of McBrien Road and Anderson Avenue on a ten minute delayed shots fired call. Nothing suspicious was located. (21-010374)

5610 Ringgold Road (burglary/auto theft):

An unknown suspect broke into the Easy Auto service area, stole a set of keys and then drove a white 2010 Kia Optima off the lot. (21-010367)

3611 Phelps Street (simple assault):

Chasity Brewer was issued a misdemeanor citation after initiating a fight with her neighbor. (21-010375)

 Night Shift

700 Germantown Road (21-010391) Foot Pursuit-

Following a traffic stop, the driver fled on foot.  The driver eluded capture but was identified as Christopher Claridy.  Warrants will be sought for multiple charges.

I-75s @ Exit1 (21-010398) Traffic Stop –

James Mims, 36, of a 48th Street address, was arrested after a traffic stop yielded a significant quantity of marijuana (about 10 pounds). a “cookie” of crack cocaine, cash, and stolen firearms.  Mims’ vehicle was seized.

4214 US41 (21-010399) Warrant Service –

Charles Brown, 53, of an Arlington Street address in Chattanooga, was arrested on a burglary warrant.

Dick graduated from ERHS in 1976 before going on to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he studied Political Science. He was among reporters who were honored by the Associated Press for the TFP's coverage of the 2002 fog-shrouded crash on I-75 in Catoosa County, Dick and his wife, Cathy, live on Marlboro Avenue where they are seen frequently chasing around their three grandsons.
