Police Briefs for June 18

According to ERPD, an incident of illegal dumping occurred a few days ago.  The attached photo was taken of the suspect vehicle used during the illegal dumping. The occupants dumped approximately 300 pounds of construction debris on the rear lot of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. The SUV is quite distinguishable by the missing body panel.

The following information was compiled from ERPD “pass along reports.”

June 16 Day Shift

21-008513- 1601 Prater Road (United Methodist) – Suspicious Person-

The caller advised a homeless male was hanging around the parking lot. On arrival police encountered Joey L. He was advised to move along.

21-008514- 1417 Saint Thomas Street (Motel 6)- Narcotics Arrest-

Police conducted a consensual encounter with a gold Nissan sedan occupied by a female and a male.  Police observed a strong smell of marijuana in the vehicle.  A stolen Glock 48 was found under the driver’s seat and a small amount of marijuana along with a glass pipe was also found in the vehicle.  The passenger in the vehicle was found to be in possession of Roxicodone tablets.  The driver, Corey Greer was charged with possession of the stolen property (theft).  The passenger, Tiffany Roberts, was charged with possession of controlled substance.

21-008515- 5700 Roper Street (Newcastle Square)- Citizen Assist-

The caller requested police take her to Parkridge East for a mental evaluation. On arrival police transported the caller to the hospital.

21-008516- 3713 Ringgold Road (Subway)- Suspicious Person-

The caller advised of a female sitting in the restaurant eating food from another place. On arrival police spoke with the female. She left without incident.

21-008520- 3100 blk of Ringgold Road (Tunnels)- Check Hazard-

The caller advised of an eighteen-wheeler stuck in the tunnel. On arrival police stood by while the truck backed out of the tunnel.

 Night Shift

4000 block Sherlin Drive / Disorder:

Police responded to a disorder between neighbors over a privacy fence being built. Police determined that one of the neighbors did assault the other, but the victim did not wish to prosecute. All parties agreed to cease contact for the evening. 21-008529

6674 Ringgold Road / Credit Card Fraud:

Police conducted a consensual contact with a Michael Hullender at this location who was in possession of a credit card not belonging to him which he “found” in the parking lot. Later it was reported to police the card was stolen. Police attempted to locate Hullender but he was no longer in the area and warrants are pending for his arrest. Hullender’s girlfriend Brad Gaston was issued a citation for Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card and released from the scene. 21-008528

6800 Ringgold Road / DUI:

Police conducted a traffic stop on a white Mercedes for racing another vehicle. The traffic stop resulted in Mathew Bell being charged with Driving Under the Influence 4th Offense, Reckless Driving, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. 21-008531

4100 Ringgold Rd / Traffic Stop – Arrests:

Ariel Marshall was arrested for unlawful carrying / possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, and simple possession of marijuana during a traffic stop at this location. Deadrick Sims was also taken into custody on an outstanding warrant out of Hamilton County General Sessions during the same traffic stop. Both were transported to the jail. 21-008536

4214 Ringgold Road / Arrest-Warrant:

Matthew Robin Powell was arrested on a forfeiture capias warrant for Criminal Impersonation.  21-008543
