Police Briefs for June 2

The following information was compiled from ERPD “pass along reports.”

May 29 – Day Shift

21-007541- 5517 Ringgold Road (Sudds and Shine Laundry)- Burglary-

The caller advised an unknown male entered a storage closet and took a cup of approximately $20 in quarters. On arrival police reviewed the video footage.

21-007543- 6105 Ringgold Road (Popeye’s)- Suspicious Person-

The caller advised of a suspicious white male parked on the lot in a black truck. On arrival police encountered the man napping in his vehicle. Management agreed to allow him to stay.

21-007544- 1617 Glowmont Drive- Suspicious Person-

The caller advised of a possible intoxicated white male sitting under a tree. On arrival police encountered Matthew Edwards. On checking his info through dispatch, he was found to have a Hamilton County warrant. Edwards was detained and transported to 601.

21-007546- 1508 McDonald Road- Suspicious Activity-

The caller advised he located a broken window at this vacant house. On arrival police cleared the property and located Billy Stewart. He was removed from the house and issued a trespass warning.

21-007548- 6721 Ringgold Road (Family Dollar)- Suspicious Person-

The caller advised of a male subject sleeping behind the store. On arrival police spoke to the male and advised him to move along. He left the area without incident.

21-007554- 1300 Sewanee Drive- Theft-

While on scene investigating an assault that occurred at this location, the tenant stated an unknown suspect stole his black Hi-Point JCP .40 cal from within his residence within the past week. The tenant was unable to provide police with a serial number, however he did state that if and when he is able to find the serial number he will provide police with said serial number.

May 29 – Night Shift

1300 Sewannee Dr / Domestic Assault:

Jenifer Goins was arrested for Domestic Assault at this location from an assault that occurred on dayshift.  21-007553

4338 Ringgold Road / Traffic Stop:

William Cody Bell was taken into custody for Reckless driving, DUI, assault on two police officers, felony evading, resisting arrest, and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop.  21-007561

700 S. Germantown / Pursuit:

East Ridge Police located a vehicle which was just involved in a drive by shooting where a female was struck by gun fire. Police waited for a second unit and attempted to stop the vehicle which resulted in a vehicle pursuit. Following the pursuit East Ridge Police were able to take the driver into custody and discovered him to have several active warrants through Hamilton County as well as being on Hamilton County’s “Top 12.”  21-007568

4214 Ringgold Road / Arrest-Warrant:

Somphong P Xayravang was arrested on Forfeiture Capias warrants for Possession of Meth and Resisting Arrest.  21-007571

State line @ Prater / Evading:

Police attempted to stop a blue Honda Civic on State Line. The vehicle continued at a high rate of speed east bound then south on Prater Road. Police did not pursue.  21-007574

1441 N Smith St / Vehicle Fire:

Police assisted ERFD at the Holiday Inn on a vehicle on fire in their parking lot.  21-007582

6116 Ringgold Road / DUI:

Juan De Dios Sanchez Espino was arrested for DUI at this location during a traffic stop. 21-007584

1410 Mack Smith Rd / Trespass Warning:

Michael Green was issued a trespass notification from the Budgetel.  21-007585

May 30 – Day Shift

No number assigned- 1210 West End Avenue- Suspicious People-

The caller advised of unknown people knocking on her door. While speaking with dispatch the unknown people left the scene. The caller feels this may be related to the assault that occurred yesterday at this address. She requested an extra patrol of the neighborhood.

21-007594- 1210 West End Avenue- Disorder with a Weapon-

The caller advised a Ronnie Dobbins (AKA Man Man) came to the residence and pulled a gun on her son. She advised Dobbins then left the area in a gold SUV. On arrival in the area the suspect was not located. Warrants will be sought.

21-007597- 4200 blk of Ringgold Road- Suspicious Person/FI-

The caller advised of a male suspect dancing in the roadway and he was almost hit by a car. On arrival in the area he was located on the sidewalk in the 4300 block. Police spoke with the male. He was advised to stay out of the roadway.

21-007600- 1519 Waterhouse Street- Vandalism-

On arrival police met with the complainant. She advised on 5-29 between 1800 hours and 2300 hours the passenger side window on her 2004 Nissan Sentra was shot with what appeared to be a BB Gun. There appeared to be two to three shots at the car with two hitting the window and one hitting the panel of the door.

May 30 – Night Shift

 3604 Brainerd Road / Driving on Revoked:

Darrel Gordon was arrested for driving on revoked for DUI at this location.  21-007616

3718 Ringgold Road / Narcotics Arrest:

Maureen Marker was taken into custody following a traffic stop at this location where police discovered her to be in possession of approximately one ounce of methamphetamine. Marker was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, tampering with evidence, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Larry Barker was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia.  21-007622

3631 Glen Oaks Dr / Drugs:

Elbert Mcfalls was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of MDMA at this location during a suspicious activity call.  21-007624

6600 Jordan Run / Arrest:

Police responded to a suspicious vehicle in the area of 6600 Jordan Run. Police located the vehicle parked at the end of the cul-de-sac and discovered a male subject unconscious in the driver’s seat. Renee Clark was in the passenger seat and stated the male subject had taken oxycodone. Police were able to wake the man up and he was transported by EMS to Parkridge East for medical treatment. During the interaction, Clark became disorderly with police. Police further discovered drug paraphernalia in the vehicle which Clark claimed ownership of and she stated that she had also used oxycodone with the male subject. Clark was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, public intoxication, and disorderly conduct.  21-007625

3326 Ringgold Road / Traffic Stop:

Ericka Haynes was taken into custody for driving on suspended and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was also served with an East Ridge alias/capias warrant for driving on suspended. The passenger, Christopher Swafford, was taken into custody for possession of methamphetamine, possession of schedule I, and possession of schedule IV.  21-007629

1417 St Thomas St – Theft:

Police were flagged down at the Motel 6 regarding a theft. The complainant stated to police that her purse was stolen from a staircase outside the motel when she left it there while moving into her room. The complainant stated the purse had her ID, social security card, and medications inside. Police were unable to see anything on security camera footage. No suspect information available.  21-007640

6504 Ringgold Rd (Subway) (disorder):

Christopher Meade (w/m) was issued a criminal trespass warning after starting a verbal altercation with the manager over the Wifi password. (21-007655)

4214 Ringgold Rd (warrant service):

Courtney Robinson was served with a forfeiture capias for criminal simulation after he was encountered by CPD at the America’s Best Inn as a suspicious person. CPD agreed to transport the subject to the jail. (21-007662)

183.6 I-24 West                    (21-007669)           Brown, Mark arrested for DUI after a single vehicle crash 

841 S Germantown Rd        (21-007678)           Catalytic Converter theft

6503 Slater Road                 (21-007680)          Elliott, Patrick arrested  for Burglary of Business 

6500 US-41                          (21-007681)           Noah, Christopher arrested on narcotics and traffic charges

1800 McBrien Road             (21-007683)          Doe, John arrested for indecent exposure and disorderly conduct

Dick graduated from ERHS in 1976 before going on to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he studied Political Science.
