Police Briefs for June 29

The following information was compiled from ERPD “pass along” reports provided by the administration.

June 27 Day Shift

1509 S. Smith Street (extra patrol):

The complainant requested extra patrol during the night at this location. He stated he has recently had a tag stolen from a work van and an unknown suspect recently attempted to cut the catalytic converter off the same van. He declined to file a report on the vandalism. (22-009063)

4214 Ringgold Road (extortion):

A man swapped naked pictures on Instagram with a person. After sharing his natural essence, he was then instructed to send cash payments or else be ruined. So far, he has paid $600 to the suspect. (22-009053) 

6121 Sherwood Drive (deceptive practice):

The complainant rented this property through Renters.com and then moved in after paying $1,000. The property owner and his realty management company then discovered the complainant had moved in without being rented to by management. It turns out the complainant was scammed online and will have to vacate the property. (22-009061)

Night Shift

5 Belvoir Circle (Vehicle Fire 22-009072):

Police were dispatched to this location in response to a vehicle fire. On scene ERFD extinguished the fire and advised no arson was suspected. A property damage report was completed.

820 Poindexter Avenue (Disorder/Assault 22-009079):

Police responded to this location in reference to a disorder/assault over too much perfume being sprayed in the residence. On scene, Police were unable to determine what had occurred due to a language barrier and lack of a translator. Officers were able to separate the parties involved for the evening and completed a report

6514 Ringgold Rd (Trespass Warning 22-009096):

Daniel Kelley was issued a trespass warning at the request of Mapco personnel.

5346 Ringgold Rd. (Public Intoxication 22-009085):

Travis Stringfield was arrested for Public Intoxication, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Simple Possession of Marijuana after he was located lying unconscious in a parking lot.

6006 Welworth Avenue (Suspicious Person 22-009066):

Officers responded to this location due to a suspicious person who knocked on the door of this residence twenty minutes prior to officers being called. Upon arrival, police spoke with the homeowner who was concerned about the stranger. Officers were able to make contact with the male party. He stated he does work for a person who owns several properties, and he made a mistake and went to the wrong house. No further police action taken.

5700 Ringgold Rd (Arrest 22-009080):

Dontavious Smiley was arrested for criminal impersonation and multiple outstanding warrants during a traffic stop at this location.

4214 Ringgold Rd (Warrant Service 22-009092):

Nadine Pittman was taken into custody by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office on an outstanding East Ridge warrant and transported to jail.

4214 Ringgold Rd (Warrant Service 22-009099):

Kelly Michaels (AKA Kelly Pittman) was served with outstanding East Ridge warrants at the Hamilton County jail.
