Police Briefs for June 8

The following information was compiled from ERPD “pass along” reports.

June 6 Day Shift

22-007968- 5345 Reneau Way- Alarm-

Police responded to check the residence. On scene the alarm was found to be accidental.

22-007969- 940 Spring Creek Road- Wellbeing Check-

The caller advised of a male in a hospital gown laying in the grass. On scene police spoke with the male. He was advised to move along.

22-007970- 1143 South Seminole Drive- Shots Fired-

The caller advised she heard two gun shots in the area. On scene police determined the noise came from construction in the area.

22-007975- 1400 block Melody Lane- AOA-

Police responded with EMS on a 56-year-old male suffering from alcohol poisoning. On scene police stood by while EMTs handled the call.

22-007977- 6900 block Glen Errol Way- Domestic Disorder/Mental Health Consumer-

The caller advised her son struck her in the face while suffering a mental health event. He was taken into protective custody and transported to Johnson Mental Health. His mother declined prosecution due to his altered mental state.

22-007980- 403 McBrien Road- Suspicious Person/Wellbeing Check-

The caller advised a male in the parking lot was acting strange. On scene police checked the area but the male had already moved on.

22-007987- 7609 Standifer Gap Road- Warrant Service-

Marina Smith was served with an East Ridge warrant at Silverdale.

Dick Cook has lived in East Ridge since the Kennedy Administration when his parents bought a house on Marietta Street. Dick graduated from ERHS in 1976 before going on to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he studied Political Science. When Chattanooga's two paper's merged, he became the Crime Reporter covering both the Chattanooga Police and Fire Departments. He was among reporters who were honored by the Associated Press for the TFP's coverage of the 2002 fog-shrouded crash on I-75 in Catoosa County, Dick and his wife, Cathy, live on Marlboro Avenue where they are seen frequently chasing around their three grandsons.
