Police Briefs for May 11

The following information was compiled from ERPD “pass along reports.”

May 08 – Day Shift

3657 Ringgold Road (warrant service):

Tammy Reed was taken into custody on two Hamilton County Warrants following a consensual encounter at this location. (21-006360)

1417 Mack Smith Road (theft):

The complainant reported the theft of her car’s catalytic converter between May 2nd and May 5th while the car was at the East Ridge Retirement Center. (21-006358)

1520 Swope Road (found property):

The resident at this address contacted police after finding a loaded AK-47 magazine in the grass next to the road. The magazine was placed into Property and Evidence. (21-006355)

May 08 – Night Shift

1410 Mack Smith Rd (Domestic Assault 21-006362):

Police responded to reports of a male assaulting a female at the Budgetel. Herbert Elder was taken into custody for domestic assault and theft.

531 S St Marks (Arrest 21-0063664):

Amanda Francis was taken into custody for DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, driving while suspended and possession of a stolen vehicle following a crash.

5300 Ringgold Rd (Arrest 21-006367):

Hunter White was taken into custody for leaving the scene of an accident with injuries, possession of marijuana, tampering with evidence and driving while suspended following a crash. White also had several warrants through East Ridge

6200 Ringgold Rd (Arrests 21-006370):

Kayla Starnes and Randy Sluder were taken into custody for public intoxication after Sluder had been observed walking in traffic on I-75 South.  Sluder was also charged with obstructing a roadway. Starnes also had verified warrants through East Ridge.

6600 Ringgold Rd (Arrest 21-006376):

Leyver Gutierrez Vasquez was taken into custody for DUI, possession of methamphetamine, driving while suspended and open container law violation

 May 09 – Day Shift

8100 block Dugan Street (domestic):

An argument between a male and female couple became heated with both claiming to have been assaulted by the other. Officers spoke with both and were unable to determine a primary aggressor. The male collected his belongings to leave for a while. (21-006384)

May 09 – Night Shift

611 S Lovell (Arrest 21-006417):

Officers responded to a possible automobile theft in progress. Police arrived on scene and spoke with Chad Canada. Canada explained a female acquaintance had attempted to steal his vehicle. Canada was very animated and displayed signs of being impaired by methamphetamine. Canada’s details of the events could not be confirmed because of his level of impairment. He was taken into custody for possession of drug paraphernalia and public intoxication.

Police later received several reports of a female in the area who may have been the suspect in the attempted automobile theft.  Citizens stated they saw a female matching her description in the Maryland Dr and Belvoir Dr area. One family stated she had entered their home then fled when confronted. ERPD requested the assistance of a Chattanooga Police K9 in searching for the suspect. Although the suspect was not located, she was identified by police as Chelsea Smith. Smith has verified warrants through Walker County and now has numerous warrants pending in East Ridge.

400 Scruggs Rd (Misdemeanor Citation 21-006427):

Heather Mansel was issued a misdemeanor citation for simple possession during a traffic stop.

6400 Ringgold Rd (AOA Warrant 21-006431):

Chasity Robinson was detained on Hamilton County warrants and transported to the jail. Robinson was also charged with possession of methamphetamine which was located as she was being detained on the warrants.
