Police Briefs for Sept. 2

The following information was compiled from “pass along reports” provided by the ERPD.

Sept. 1 Day Shift

21-012530- 1200 blk of John Ross Road- Check Hazard-

The caller advised of a transformer explosion in the area. Once on scene police checked the length of John Ross to the Chattanooga city limits with nothing located. Dispatch notified EPB of the call.

No major flooding observed today. There are several roads with standing water.

21-012523- Exit 1 Off Ramp North Bound @ Ringgold Road- Check Hazard-

The caller advised the traffic signals were not functioning at this intersection. Once on scene police stood by until traffic engineering arrived and reset the lights.

21-012525- 1100 Spring Creek Road (Spring Creek Elementary)- Unruly Child-

Police responded to the school this morning regarding the same juvenile from yesterday refusing to exit his mother’s vehicle. Police again assisted the mother in getting her child in the building. 

21-012536- 1417 Saint Thomas Street (Motel 6)- Disorder Prevention/AOA-

Jeremy Jones was arrested on a Catoosa County warrant during a disorder prevention at room 216. He was transported to Silverdale.

21-012540- 6708 Ringgold Road (Circle K)- Suspicious Person-

The caller advised of a homeless male sleeping on the sidewalk in front of the business. Once on scene police woke the male and advised him to move along. The clerk declined a criminal trespass warning.

21-012542- Warrant Service-

Damon Payne was surrendered to East Ridge Police by Carlos Bail Bonding at the police department. Payne was served with forfeiture capias (possession of meth) and forfeiture capias (simple possession). He was transported to the Hamilton County Jail for booking.

21-012543- 6404 Ringgold Road (Burger King)- Disorder/Arrest-

Police responded to the business regarding a disorder in the parking lot. Police encountered a male subject and female subject in the lot. The male subject is known to officers and is known to be under a TPO barring him from being around the female. He was arrested and charged with violation of protection order. He was also found to have a county warrant. He was transported to Silverdale.

 Night Shift

21-012563: 3506 Cathy Lane-Vehicle Burglary:  

Around midnight on August 30 the complainant saw a subject running from the area of his vehicle but did not report it. Upon looking through the vehicle today he realized he was missing a credit card and a pocketknife. Subject was described as a male wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans and white sneakers.

21-012567 3657 Ringgold-Arrest: 

During a consensual encounter with Ms. Theresa Wilson she was found to be in possession of thc oil, marijuana, and paraphernalia.

7609 Standifer Gap Road / Arrest-Warrant: 

Donna Davis Hester was arrested on an East Ridge warrant for Criminal Simulation which was issued on May 28, 2021.  21-007485

5707 Ringgold Road / Arrest: 

Jumeka Brown was arrested for criminal impersonation and driving on suspended following a traffic stop. She was also served with one East Ridge warrant and several other Hamilton County warrants.  21-012550

2100 block Wren Road / Noise Complaint: 

A female subject reported her neighbors for making noise during all hours of the day and night.  When police talked with the resident of 2103 Wren Road, someone threatened to poison the female subject’s dogs.

21-012574 / 3100 Ringgold Road / Pursuit: 

Hamilton County Sheriffs were involved in a pursuit of a silver Hyundai Sonata.  The occupants in the Hyundai were suspects in a shooting, multiple burglaries, and the vehicle was stolen.  The pursuit entered East Ridge jurisdiction around 3700 Ringgold Road traveling at approximately 95 mph.  East Ridge took over the pursuit when the suspect vehicle passed at South Seminole Drive.  East Ridge terminated pursuit as they exited the tunnels due to road conditions.  HCSO units resumed control of the pursuit after catching up to East Ridge units.
