Police Briefs for September 22

The following information was compiled from ERPD “pass along” reports.

September 20 Day Shift

6900 block Glenn Erol Way (Child Locked in Vehicle 22-013105):

Police and fire responded to a seven-year-old autistic child locked in a vehicle. The child had apparently carried his grandmother’s keys into the car as they were preparing for school and locked himself in.

4320 Bennett Rd (Assist Other Agency 22-013109); 

Officers responded to assist the SRO with a disorder. East Ridge Police provided care for a juvenile male who had been exposed to OC spray and assisted in preventing further disorderly conduct.  He was taken into custody for disorderly conduct by Hamilton County Sheriff’s Deputies.

6725 Ringgold Rd (Suspicious Activity 22-013124):

The reporting party stated someone had laid a jacket across the bed of his truck and because of an increase in Fentanyl use in the area he was afraid to touch it. The jacket was removed by police.

323 Camp Jordan Parkway, Adventure Guild, (Vandalism 22-013110):

The storage shed was spray painted with gold paint.  A picnic table on the grounds was also vandalized.

3403 Crabtree Rd (Theft 22-013104):

The complainant reported the theft of his .45 Cal Springfield XDE from his residence sometime between 08/20/22 and this date. Mr. Stevenson advised he does not know who took the gun, as he has had several visitors to his residence. The firearm was entered into NCIC.

1014 John Ross Rd. Child Abuse 22-013116)

East Ridge Elementary school staff reported possible child abuse involving one of their students. She advised CPS referral had already been completed.

Night Shift

2173 Dugan Sreet (Fight):

Police responded here referencing two juveniles fighting. Upon arrival, police determined this to be a continuation of an altercation the occurred at the high school earlier in the day and a mutual combatant incident. (22-013128)

4214 Ringgold Road (Warrant Service):

Tamra Johnson was served an East Ridge arrest warrant while already incarcerated at the county jail. (22-013156)

1625 Barry Lane (Suspicious):

Reporting party called in stating she believed someone was outside of her window and smelled cigarette smoke. Police checked the area but did not locate anything. (22-013157)

184 Interstate 24WB (Assist-Pursuit):

A single Hamilton County Sheriff’s Deputy was in a pursuit. An ERPD officer engaged in the pursuit from Spring Creek/North Terrace until Browns Ferry Rd when a second HCSO deputy could catch up. The pursuit ended in Marion County when the suspect rammed a Marion County Deputy’s vehicle. Two suspects were taken into custody. (22-013159)
