Red Bank Survives East Ridge; Stays Unbeaten in Region

October 8, 2022 By Contributed Article Leave a Comment

Red Bank stayed unbeaten in Region 3-4A with a 21-12 win against East Ridge, Friday night at home.

East Ridge (1-7, 1-3) went up early after Hasani Jackson intercepted a Lion pass and returned it to the 2-yard line. Quarterback Jermaine Blackstock dove into the end zone on fourth-and-goal to give the Pioneers a 6-0 lead.

Red Bank (7-0, 4-0) scored twice in the first half and took a 14-6 lead into the locker room.

The Pioneers cut the lead to 14-12 in the third quarter when Blackstock found Cadion Harris for a 92-yard strike.

Red Bank scored in the fourth quarter after an East Ridge fumble.

First-year Pioneer coach Chad Barger said he was proud of how his team played.

“These kids are resilient, and we’ve got a lot of kids coming back next year,” Barger told the Times Free Press’s Jim Tanner. “The future is bright in East Ridge, so I’m just so proud of them. We’ve got to keep fighting.”
