Two Arrests Made in Waffle House Killing

January 20, 2026 By Contributed Article Leave a Comment

A man and a woman were arrested and charged in the killing of a customer inside the Waffle House on Sunday evening.

According to an East Ridge Police Department press release, Toney Tyrone Allen, 37, of Chattanooga, and Cyntoria Deanna Simmons, 43, of East Ridge were arrested by police on Tuesday.

Both have been charged with Criminal Homicide.

On Sunday evening at about 10:45 p.m., East Ridge Police were dispatched to the Waffle House located at 6513 Ringgold Road regarding a shooting. Responding officers were advised that a victim had been shot multiple times. Upon police arrival, the victim, later identified as 26-year-old Mayco Bravo Gonzalez of East Ridge, was located on the floor of the business with multiple life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Officers began treating his injuries while awaiting medical response. The victim was transported by EMS to Erlanger Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

Investigators were advised by witnesses that a male and female had entered the establishment to order food. A review of the surveillance video corroborated witness statements of the two suspects entering the establishment and interacting with staff. A brief verbal exchange between the victim and two suspects is observed before the suspects exit the restaurant, disengaging themselves from the situation.

Shortly thereafter, the male suspect is observed coming back into the establishment brandishing a firearm. The suspect then discharges the firearm multiple times at the unsuspecting victim while he was seated and his back was turned.

During this time the female suspect is also observed entering the establishment while brandishing a firearm. She did not fire at the victim.
