Blood Assurance is in urgent need of blood donors.

According to a press release, late Tuesday evening, a Chattanooga medical facility requested a significant quantity of additional blood units to treat two patients suffering from traumatic injuries.

Blood Assurance was able to fulfil the order, but it severely strained an already very low blood supply. The community blood center now has a single-day supply or less of every blood type on its shelves. Ideally, Blood Assurance would like to have at least a five-day supply available. Blood Assurance needs more than 400 donors a day to meet that need.
