RINGGOLD _ The Catoosa County Board of Assessors has completed the annual revaluation of all properties and is mailing Notices of Assessment. To comply with Georgia state law properties must be valued uniformly and based on the current real estate sales market in Catoosa County.
The annual Notice of Assessment for residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural properties is not a tax bill. It is a notification to property owners about the current 2024 fair market value that the Tax Assessor has placed on their property with a tax estimate using the previous year’s (2023) millage rate. It does not account for any possible rollback of the 2024 millage rate.
In the coming weeks the Catoosa County Board of Commissioners, the Catoosa County School Board, and the Ringgold and Fort Oglethorpe city councils will calculate a rollback millage rate to account for market rate growth in 2024. The Catoosa County Board of Commissioners is currently in the process of setting the fiscal year 2024/2025 county budget. A 2024 rollback millage rate has not been set.
Property owners with questions about their 2024 Notice of Assessment can call the Tax Assessors office at (706) 965-3772. Those who wish to appeal their 2024 assessment have several options:
