Catholic Continues Winning Ways in Middle School Baseball

March 23, 2022 By Contributed Article Leave a Comment

Sam Shutters’ single in the seventh inning provided the winning margin for Catholic, as they downed Grace, 6-5, Tuesday in middle school baseball at Jack Mattox field.

The win improved Catholic to 7-2 on the season.

Reliever Charlie Hunt came on in the second and allowed only one run on 71 pitches. Hunt recorded eight strikeouts.

Catholic Coach Chase White noted the outstanding fielding by second baseman Parker Coode, who gathered in a hard-hit grounder and made a clutch throw to first baseman Justin Allen to end the game.

Aaron Bouchard had a three-hit day including three RBI, while Cale Nausley knocked in a pair of runs.
