The groundbreaking for the new Chick-fil-A restaurant in the Jordan Crossing development is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 22 at 10 a.m.
The event had been planned for Jan. 8 but was postponed apparently due to inclement weather.
The new 5,000-square-foot restaurant is at 639 Camp Jordan Parkway and will be the first restaurant in Jordan Crossing. The Chick-fil-A, owned by Heath Kyle, is expected to be open for business by spring and will offer seating for 120 guests. Plans are for additional patio seating for a dozen, as well as a playground for children.
When it opens, the location is expected to create about 85 new jobs.
According to the Chattanooga Times Free Press, the East Ridge Chick-fil-A is the second of six restaurants the popular chain expects to open in Tennessee in 2018.
