Dump Truck Slams into Home on Belvoir Crest Drive

On Saturday morning, a dump truck that lost its breaks traveling on Indian Trail slammed into a nearby home causing major damage

According to East Ridge Fire Chief Mike Williams, the accident happened at 9:18 a.m. The truck was traveling on Indian Trail when it lost its breaks. The truck slammed into a house at 859 Belvoir Crest Drive, trapping the driver inside the vehicle. Firefighters had to extricate the driver from the damaged vehicle. Officials said the driver was not injured in the accident.

Officials said code enforcement staff was called to the scene due to the significant damage to the residence.

Chief Williams praised ERPD and firefighters that responded to the incident.
