Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive and SRO Units Arrest Top 12 Most Wanted Suspect

February 26, 2022 By Contributed Article 0 Comments

On Friday, personnel with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive and School Resource Deputy Units arrested Sani’h Deshawn Jenkins at Howard High School.

Jenkins (Age 18) was added yesterday to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office’s Top 12 Most Wanted. Jenkins, a student at Howard High School, was taken into custody without incident.

Jenkins was wanted for Robbery and Theft of Property by the Chattanooga Police Department.

According to an affidavit, on January 27th Jenkins robbed someone on East 28th Street. The victim was trying to buy an iPad Generation 5 that Jenkins was selling on Facebook Market place under the name Nate, according to the affidavit.

The woman attempting to buy the iPad arrived at the pick-up location with $300 and found a black and white man talking, the affidavit states. The woman asked for ‘Nate’ and Jenkins stepped forward. He gave her the iPad to inspect and then she handed it back to take out her money, according to the affidavit.

The victim said she had her hand on the iPad and he had his on the money when Jenkins pushed her and took off with the money, according to the affidavit. The victim’s husband was there and tried to follow Jenkins but lost him.

The officer on scene recalled a similar incident of another victim trying to buy an iPad from a ‘Nate Longlive Jaylon’ on Facebook who stole the victim’s money. The officer connected the pseudonym with Jenkins, according to the affidavit.

A separate affidavit states that officers responded to a shoplifting incident at the Walmart on Gunbarrel Road on Febuary 6. Police spoke with the loss and prevention employee at the Walmart, who said security footage from November 27, 2021 showed a black man in all black going behind the front counter of the electronics section. The man, identified as Jenkins, took two iPad 13 pro maxes (valued at $900 each), according to the affidavit.

Footage showed Jenkins walking around the store for two minutes before concealing the iPads in his shirt and walking out of the building.
