Jnohope Goal Carries Day for Red Wolves

July 28, 2025 By Contributed Article Leave a Comment

Tobi Jnohope first goal of the season pushed Chattanooga Red Wolves past One Knoxville, 1-0, Saturday in the Jägermeister Cup.

Despite picking up the win, the Red Wolves have been eliminated from the Jägermeister Cup after finishing third in group play with five points. The Red Wolves have now put together four shutouts in their last five games while recording eight goals across the five-game stretch and allowing just one.

Red Wolves keeper Ricardo Jerez was forced to come up with a few key stops during the game to keep the visiting side scoreless. The lone goal of the game would come in the 66’ minute after center back, Tobi Jnohope fought hard for a lose ball inside the area. The Red Wolves won a free kick just inside the half and the ball was delivered and flicked on. Jnohope had to fight off two Knoxville defenders to get a touch that he directed on goal that would go past the Knoxville keeper.

The second-place side in the USL will return to league action on Friday, August 1 at 7:00 p.m. when they travel on the road to face Westchester SC. The game can be seen on ESPN+. The Red Wolves sit two points back of leaders Spokane Velocity FC but do have a game in hand.
