John Ross Road Closure for Infrastructure Improvements

August 29, 2025 By Contributed Article Leave a Comment

The City of East Ridge is notifying the public of a scheduled road closure on John Ross Road as part of ongoing infrastructure improvement efforts under the City’s P3 program. The work will be performed by Morgan Contracting, Inc. with traffic control in accordance with the approved Traffic Control Plan. This phase includes the Open Cut replacement of piping and is designed to improve underground infrastructure and roadway safety.

Closure Schedule & Location

Dates: Tuesday, September 2 – Friday, September 5, 2025

  • Location: John Ross Road between Bennett Road and Greenslake Road
  • Time: Daily closures beginning at 7:30 AM with roadways reopened nightly, except Thursday, September 4, when the roadway will remain closed overnight to allow completed work to properly cure before traffic and heavy equipment may pass.

A full closure will be in place each workday for both directions of travel.

Detour Routes

All traffic will follow posted detour signage around the work zone. Flaggers will be stationed along detour routes to assist motorists and maintain local access where possible. A revised detour map prepared by Superior Traffic Control will be posted on the City of East Ridge’s website and social media channels.

Additional Information

This project is anticipated to last through September 5, 2025, but schedules may be adjusted due to weather, construction conditions, or material availability. For questions or additional information, please contact East Ridge City Hall at (423) 867-7711 or visit www.eastridgetn.gov.
