Day Shift August 15: B Squad

25-008656- 6100 BLK Marietta Street- Collapse – Police, Fire, and EMS responded to a reported structure collapse at this address and found a large tree had uprooted and fallen across the residence. Upon hearing yelling from inside, ERPD officers forced entry through the rear door and located a male occupant with minor injuries. The structure was cleared and taped off by fire for safety.

Night Shift August 15: D Squad

25-008666 – 3500 BLK Claremont Avenue – Deceptive Practice – A man was a victim of a deceptive practice after he wire transferred thousands of dollars in exchange for multiple fake checks at the instruction of an unknown party claiming to live in Buffalo, New York.

25-008679-3600 BLK Fountain Avenue-Domestic Assault – A caller reported his girlfriend was throwing his belongings out of the apartment and hitting him. On scene, the caller showed police video footage of the assault, and his girlfriend admitted to police that she struck him. When the officer transported the girlfriend to the police department, she had taken her cuffs off in the back of the patrol car. She was charged with domestic assault and escape.

25-008680 – 3600 BLK Ringgold Road – Suspicious Activity – Officers responded to the above address on a report of an attempted kidnapping. The reporting party initially stated that two males attempted to kidnap her two-year-old daughter. The business owner allowed officers and the child’s parents to review surveillance footage of the incident. Officers determined neither suspect committed any act that would constitute a kidnapping attempt, and the child’s parents agreed. Additionally, the child’s parents declined to have officers complete a miscellaneous report to document the suspicious activity.

25-008688- Ringgold Rd- Arrest/DUI – A woman was arrested on DUI after being stopped for driving with no headlights.

25-008689 – 6600 BLK Ringgold Road – Other Warrant – A party was taken into custody on Dade and Catoosa County Warrants for felony Larceny, Prowling, and Trespassing following a traffic stop for driving an unregistered moped on the roadway.

Day Shift August 16: B Squad

25-008695 – 700 BLK Belvoir Avenue – Assist EMS/Suspicious Activity – Police responded to assist EMS for a call for a person bleeding from the wrists at this location. Officers encountered a naked man, holding his bleeding wrist and standing next to a gray Jeep with a shattered windshield. He and the owner of the Jeep claimed the injured party was assisting with mounting a bicycle onto a bicycle rack on the rear of the Jeep, when his arm somehow slipped and struck the rear windshield of the vehicle, causing it to shatter and cut his wrist. The man stated he then removed his underwear to wrap his bleeding wrist and remained outside while the other retrieved more wrappings for his injury and clothing. While speaking with the party, police noticed the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his person and when asked for further details of the incident, he became argumentative and insisted the scene was no more than what he stated it to be. HCEMS arrived and attempted to treat the man’s wounds, however, he declined assistance.

25-008696- 1600 BLK Castleberry Ave- Road Blocked – Police responded to this address on reports of a blocked road. Upon arrival police observed a large tree across the entire road making it untraversable. The street department was notified and responded promptly.

25-008698- 600 BLK Camp Jordan Pkwy- Property Damage – Police responded to reports of significant water pooling in front of the hotel. On arrival, officers observed broken post-indicator valves and fire department connection valves supplying water for the sprinkler systems to businesses in the 100 Block of Camp Jordan Parkway. The damage required shutting off the water supply and placing the affected businesses on fire watch. Surveillance footage showed a white semi-truck striking the concrete housing for the pipes at approximately 0125 hours. The driver inspected his vehicle for damage before leaving the scene. Appropriate charges will be pursued upon identification of the driver.

25-008702- 182 I-24 W- Disorder with a Weapon – Police were called about a crash where a male party was seen grabbing a firearm. The reporting party had multiple juveniles in her car and called it in as a disorder with a weapon, as the other party started getting aggressive about it being her fault. Police secured the male party with the firearm and discovered that the firearm was never brandished; she had just observed him put it in his waistband.

25-008707 – 1000 BLK S. Seminole Drive – Check the Well-being – Police responded to this location to check on the resident after his father called to report not hearing from him in several weeks. On scene, police spoke to tenants in the other side of the duplex who also informed police they had not seen the tenant in several weeks but stated his garbage had been taken to the street earlier in the week. Police did not contact the party, and the caller was advised of the findings.

25-008710- 300 BLK Frawley Rd – Well-being check – Police responded to this address after neighbors expressed concern for possible cats inside the residence, following news that the resident had been struck by a train in Gordon County on August 12. East Ridge Animal Services, familiar with the man and his next of kin, was contacted and will follow up with relatives to ensure the animals’ safety.

25-008717- 601 Justice Way – Warrant service – A man was served with a Forfeiture Capias for Theft under $1,000 while in custody at Hamilton County Jail.

Night Shift August 16: D Squad

25-008729 – 1700 BLK Keeble Street – Open Door/Arrest – Officers responded to the above address on a report of an open door. Officers were notified by an off-duty officer that the business had been having a yard sale. Officers contacted two men who advised that they had been hired by the owner to clean out the business. The owner was not on scene and could not be reached by dispatch to verify the parties’ claim. One was found to have a Probation Capias warrant through East Ridge City Court, with the original charge of Resisting Arrest. He was taken into custody and transported to the Hamilton County Jail without issue. A miscellaneous report was made to document the incident.

25-008740 – 4400 BLK Ringgold Road – Suspicious Activity Arrest – Police were notified of a suspicious vehicle on Ringgold Road traveling westbound that had an LED sign stating, “Kidnapped Help.” Units began searching for the vehicle and were updated by Dispatch that the vehicle was entering Interstate 24 headed westbound. Units were able to locate the vehicle with the support of Chattanooga PD and THP, occupied by two adults and one juvenile. Both parties admitted to knowing what the sign was saying and stated it was “a joke.” During the investigation, Dispatch advised that a TPO order was active between both adults, which was verified out of Putnam County. The male subject was placed into custody and charged with False Reports, Disorderly Conduct, and Violation of a Protection Order. The female was also placed into custody and charged with False Reports and Disorderly Conduct. The juvenile was remanded to the custody of the grandmother.

25-008747- 1800 BLK Tombras Avenue- Theft – Police responded to a reported theft. The victim stated that someone had taken six fishing poles, and an Echo weed eater from his carport. The victim could not provide any further information.

25-008748- 500 BLK Camp Jordan Parkway- Shots Fired – Officers responded to investigate shots fired. Witnesses stated that a red truck and a black GMC truck were shooting in the parking lot. Officers located spent shell casings in one lot as well as the parking lot next door. Two vehicles were struck by rounds fired. The driver of a damaged truck was inside the vehicle at the time of the shooting. An unknown male suspects fled the scene, and it is unclear at this time if the driver of the Ram truck was an intended target. CID responded to the scene for the investigation.

25-008748 – 500 BLK Camp Jordan Parkway- Warrant Service – A man was taken into custody on Hamilton County warrants for Failure to Appear for driving on a Suspended License while officers were investigating a shots-fired call that occurred in the parking lot.

Day Shift August 17: B Squad

25-008748- Camp Jordon Parkway- Follow-ups – Multiple follow-ups were conducted by patrol to gather camera footage for the shots fired incident. shooting. The surrounding businesses were all made aware that an inquiry into their camera footage would be made by the East Ridge Police Department. One was able to provide footage from the parking lot that caught the possible suspect vehicle leaving at 0105 hours.

25-008764 – 3400 BLK Navajo Drive – Assist EMS – Police responded to assist EMS/Fire with an elderly party experiencing heat exhaustion. On scene, the patient appeared to be disoriented and had reddening skin. HCEMS arrived on scene and transported the patient to an area hospital.

Night Shift August 17: D Squad

25-008779 – 3900 BLK Ringgold Road – Assist another Agency – Units conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Avalanche in the 3900 block of Ringgold Road for not having a proper tag on the vehicle. The driver was found to have an active Failure to Appear warrant out of Red Bank. The original charge was Headlights on Motor Vehicle (Inclement Weather).

Day Shift August 18: A Squad

25-008804 – 3900 BLK Ringgold Road – Burglar Alarm – Police responded to a burglar alarm at the restaurant. Upon arrival, police found all the doors secured and found it to be a false alarm.

Night Shift August 18: C Squad

25-008812 – 1400 BLK Saint Thomas Street – Suspicious Activity / Assist Other Agency – A woman reported a gold car had been following her all day. Police located the vehicle and determined the owner lived in the neighborhood. He had not followed the reporting party. While taking the report, Police determined that the reporting party had two confirmed arrest warrants out of Walker County, GA. She was taken into custody and transported to the Hamilton County Jail.

25-008817 – 3800 Ringgold Road – Traffic Stop / Arrest – Police observed a black Nissan Altima traveling westbound on Ringgold Road with a non-functioning headlight. A traffic stop was made and the driver was found in possession of marijuana. A misdemeanor citation was issued for Simple Possession of Marijuana due to the overall amount.

25-008819 – 3600 BLK Ida Belle Lane – Back Other Agency – East Ridge Police were notified that a lone Drug Task Force (DTF) agent was in a vehicle pursuit on Ringgold Road. An East Ridge unit caught up with the pursuit near the Bachman tunnels and watched it turn eastbound on Ringgold Road. A few minutes later, the suspect vehicle drove down Mimbro Lane and crashed into a drainage ditch on Indian Trail. The suspect fled on foot but was apprehended and identified. Several charges are being brought against the subject by the DTF. THP responded to the location and completed a crash report.

25-008821 – 5500 BLK Ringgold Road – Theft – A woman reported her clothes were stolen from the Coin Laundry. The business manager provided a video that showed an unknown female enter the store and take the clothes out of a washer. The female suspect then left the area in a white Kia Optima. The victim stated the value of the clothing was around $800 and she will pursue charges if the female suspected is identified.
