Day Shift July 28: B Squad
26-007132- 200 BLK Eads Street- Disorder with a Weapon – Police responded to the complex following a report which alleged that a verbal altercation with another resident occurred in the parking lot of Building 3. The RP reported that the suspect then walked into an apartment, returned a short time later, and allegedly displayed a firearm in a threatening manner. Officers obtained statements from the reporting party. A consensual search of the apartment and vehicle was conducted; however, no firearm was located. Due to insufficient evidence to establish a criminal offense, no charges were filed.
26-007138- 4300 BLK Stone Street- SIA – Police were called after Animal Services stated someone was attempting to surrender an animal. When police arrived on scene, they met a party who stated he needed to surrender his dog now. He was informed he was not able to do so due to the new TCA and needed to set up a date with the Animal Shelter as well as a declaration of surrender. The man became irate with officers and stated he would go to another jurisdiction and abandon the dog so ERPD could not charge him.
26-007147- 300 BLK Frawley Road- Residential Fire/Back Other – Police responded to the listed address to assist with traffic control while East Ridge Fire Department managed a reported structure fire.
Night Shift July 28: D Squad
26-007150 – 3600 BLK Ringgold Road- Auto Theft – Police responded to the motel and spoke with a man who reported that his truck was stolen. He said that the suspect was a known female. He did not permit her to drive his truck. The truck was entered into NCIC as stolen. Two hours later, Chattanooga PD located the truck at a motel and conducted a felony stop. They arrested a man for possession of the stolen auto. Warrants for Auto Theft and possessing Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia have been issued for the original suspect based on the evidence located in the vehicle.
26-007158 – 1400 BLK North Smith Road – Disorder/Theft – Patrol responded to the hotel after the manager called about a male walking around yelling about a female taking his money. Upon arrival, police spoke to the man who said that he had come to the hotel to meet with a female after she requested that he send her money for a massage and additional services. He spent $350 in total and never met with the female. Officers broke the news that he was scammed.
