Law and Order June 30

The following information is courtesy of the East Ridge Police Department.

Day Shift June 26: A Squad

26-005935 – 10 BLK Frawley Road– Warrant Service / Narcotics Arrest – Police were informed that a subject was seen around the dead end of Frawley Road and had an active warrant. Police searched the area and located the man and took him into custody. Upon an inventory search of his property, he was found to possess 0.4 grams of methamphetamine. His companion was found to have active sessions court warrant and was taken into custody as well. Both were taken into custody without incident.

26-005946 – 4214 Ringgold Road – Traffic Stop/Arrest – Police initiated a traffic stop on a white Chevrolet Tahoe bearing Tennessee registration in the 4200 block of Ringgold Road. The driver continued traveling and did not stop until reaching Bennett Road. Due to the circumstances, officers conducted a felony traffic stop and detained the driver. A records check revealed that the subject’s driver’s license was revoked due to a prior DUI conviction. She was placed into custody and transported to Hamilton County Jail without further incident.

Night Shift June 26: C Squad

26-005986 – 5600 BLK State Line Road – Assist Other Agency – East Ridge Police Officers responded to the intersection of Springvale Road and State Line Road to assist the Catoosa County Sherriff’s Office with traffic control. Deputies along with Catoosa County Fire and Rescue responded to a residential fire on Vero Beach Avenue. The fire was contained and it is currently under investigation.

26-005990 – 1500 BLK East Ridge Avenue – Traffic Stop / Arrest – An officer observed a vehicle traveling on Ringgold Road with a light law violation. The officer initiated a traffic stop and observed the driver and passenger switch seats as she approached the vehicle. The actual driver was identified, and he was found to be under the influence of alcohol. Police arrested the party after he refused to take the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. He was charged with Driving Under the Influence (Underage), Implied Consent, and a Light Law Violation.

Day Shift June 27: A Squad

26-005996 – 5700 Roper Street BLK – Disorder/Trespass – Police responded to a disorder at the apartments. The woman had returned showed to her ex-boyfriend’s doorstep after being asked to leave numerous times. Police notified her she was being formally trespassed and return would result in arrest.

Night Shift June 27: C Squad

26-006019 – 100 BLK Fawn Drive – Civil Matter / Assist Other Agency – A woman reported that her soon to be ex-husband took their children and refused to return them. Police found the couple did not have a parenting plan, and both had legal custody of the children. The caller then requested a Well Being Check for the kids. Police later observed the man driving home with the children and met him in front of his residence. While conducting the well-being check, Police found that he had a failure to appear warrant for shoplifting through Fort Oglethorpe, GA. He was arrested and transported to Hamilton County Jail. The children’s uncle responded to the scene and took responsibility for the children.

26-006033 – 1600 BLK Mack Smith Road – Traffic Stop / Arrest – An officer initiated a traffic stop with a white SUV after observing a light law violation. Following a roadside investigation, a man was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence. He was transported to Hamilton County jail without issue.

26-006034 – 4200 BLK Bennett Road – Traffic Stop / Arrest – An officer initiated a traffic stop with a Chevrolet Silverado due to a minor traffic violation. The driver of the vehicle was identified and police determined that he was intoxicated during an on-scene investigation. He was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and he was transported to Hamilton County jail without incident.

26-006037 – 5700 BLK State Line Road – Assist Other Agency – An East Ridge officer observed a vehicle that matched the suspect vehicle for home invasion in Chattanooga. Police were able to stop the vehicle as it went into Rossville, GA and the occupants were identified. Chattanooga Police responded to the scene and interviewed the suspects. Due to the jurisdiction issues, the Chattanooga officers released the suspects, and arrest warrants will be issued.

Day Shift June 28: A Squad

26-006043 – Interstate 24 WB 182.7 – Back Other Agency – Immigration & Customs Enforcement requested assistance after a suspect vehicle crashed into the center barrier near the 182.4-mile marker. The agent stated a traffic stop was initiated near the airport and the vehicle fled; ICE agents pursued the vehicle into East Ridge where the suspect side swiped the agent’s vehicle causing the target vehicle to lose control before striking the wall and being boxed in by agents. ICE took the wanted party into custody and requested an incident report, in lieu of a crash report, to document the crash. Broomes removed the vehicle from the scene.

26-006044 – 4214 Ringgold Road – Warrant Service – A hold request was sent to Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office after the agency took a wanted subject into custody. He was found to have four valid East Ridge warrants.

26-006055 – 1400 BLK Greenup Lane – Armed Non-Threatening – A concerned passerby called police after observing a man walking down the street with a rifle and rocket launcher strapped to his back. Officers got out with him, conducted a wellbeing check, and sent him on his way.

Night Shift June 28: C Squad

26-006057 – 1000 BLK Bass Pro Drive – Disorder with a Weapon – A woman reported that her ex-husband was holding a loaded firearm during their scheduled child exchange. She stated that he didn’t point the firearm at her, but she heard him manipulate the slide while they were arguing over custody issues. She stated that his actions were meant to intimidate her and he did put her in fear for her life. The woman called the 911 Dispatch Center, but he left the area before Police got on scene. An arrest warrant is being sought.

26-006059 – 1500 BLK Karwill Lane– Burglary – Callers reported that an unknown person entered their residence while they were gone. The residents stated that they were in the process of moving and had been staying with friends for a few days. They advised that an air conditioner, soundbar, video games, tools, clothes, and aquarium lights were stolen from the residence. At this time, no suspects have been identified.

26-006066 – 100 BLK Margareta Lane – Burglary in Progress – A woman reported that her ex-boyfriend kicked in her front door and entered her home. Several officers responded to the residence. On scene, police found that someone was pushing on the front door from within. ERPD demanded entry and eventually pushed their way into the residence. The suspect was found inside next to the front door and was quickly taken into custody. Police observed the door frame was broken and there were marks on the front door consistent with forced entry. Officers then located the caller and two of her grandchildren unharmed in a bedroom. The suspect was transported to Hamilton County Jail and charged with Aggravated Burglary, Resisting Stop; Halt; Frisk, Aggravated Domestic Assault, Two counts of Child Endangerment, Vandalism, and Aggravated Criminal Trespassing.

26-006065 – 5200 BLK Village Garden Drive, Ooltewah – Warrant Service – Hamilton County deputies located a woman during a domestic disorder and determined she had a warrant through the City of East Ridge. An East Ridge officer responded to the location and placed her in custody. At that time, she admitted to swallowing fentanyl. Police transported her to a hospital for treatment; however, she then stated she was suicidal and had swallowed the fentanyl as a self-harm attempt. A certificate of need (CON) was generated, and she remained at the hospital under a psychiatric hold.

26-006067 – 4214 Ringgold Road – Warrant Hold – Catoosa County deputies located a fugitive out of East Ridge. Police confirmed he had an Alias Capias warrant with an original charge of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. While waiting for the warrant return, Catoosa County Deputies developed original charges, and he was transported to the Catoosa County Jail. A Hold was sent to Catoosa County by the East Ridge Police.

Day Shift June 29: B Squad

26-006076- 500 BLK Donaldson Road- Shots fired – Police responded to the area after a resident stated she saw two males walk into the woods at the back of the apartment complex and possibly fire two shots from a firearm. Police canvased the area and were unable to locate any shell casings or other evidence of gunfire.

26-006085- 6500 BLK Ringgold Road- Narcotics Violation – Police were called to the gas station regarding a man smoking narcotics in the bathroom. The man was ultimately arrested and charged with possession of fentanyl, possession of MDMA and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Night Shift June 29: D Squad

26-006094 – 6700 BLK Ringgold Road – Unconscious – ERPD was dispatched to two parties unconscious inside a red Ford Explorer at the gas pump. Upon arrival, officers woke up the two individuals who had passed out. They denied medical treatment.
