Day Shift May 21: A Squad
26-004677- 4200 BLK Ringgold Road- Suspicious Person – Police were called to this location for a suspicious person. The man was found sleeping on the front patio of the church. He trespassed from the property.
26-004679 – 6400 BLK Ringgold Road – Assault in Progress – Customers at the store called police after a physical altercation occurred between three parties. Camera footage showed that a male party became enraged after he felt a woman cut line. When the woman tried to show him her receipt to prove she had already paid, he smacked it out of her hand before another man came to her defense. The victims did not wish to prosecute, and the offending party was sent on his way with a trespass warning.
Night Shift May 21: C Squad
26-004676 – 4200 BLK Ringgold Road – Suspicious Person / Arrest – Police were called to the church multiple times concerning a homeless male. During one encounter, patrol found that he and another homeless man had defecated behind a tree on the property. As a result, the individuals were criminally trespassed from the church property. Later in the evening, a church staff member contacted Police and stated the man was back in the area. Police responded and located him near the front steps. At that time, he was arrested for Criminal Trespassing and was transported to Hamilton County Jail without further issue. The subject had been trespassed from multiple other East Ridge properties due to his behavior.
26-004692 – 6000 BLK Ringgold Road – Suspicious Person – Police Officers responded to the report of a homeless male acting in an erratic manner while looking at vehicles in the parking lot. Patrol responded and identified the man before discussing his current situation. He claimed that he was checking tire pressures on the vehicles; a task that no one requested of him. The business manager did not wish to prosecute and simply asked him to leave. The subject left the area and there were no additional reports for his behavior.
26-004693 – 6700 BLK Ringgold Road – Disorder – The hotel manager reported a disorder between him and a guest. Officers responded to the hotel and found a heated, on-going argument over the hotel’s dress code. Police quickly separated the individuals and de-escalated the situation. Due to the verbal altercation, the manager requested the man be criminally trespassed from the property. The party stated he understood the trespass warning and agreed to leave the hotel.
26-004694 – 3400 BLK Lisa Drive– Shots Fired – The resident reported seeing a red laser moving through his backyard followed by a single gunshot. Officers responded to the location but did not locate any additional noise or red laser. Patrol checked the surrounding area and spoke with several individuals; however, no one else heard the gunfire. No damage or injuries were reported.
26-004695 – 4300 BLK Ringgold Road – Traffic Stop / Arrest for Other Agency – Following a traffic stop, a man was taken into custody for a felony probation violation through Walker County, GA. The Walker County Sheriff’s Office agreed to extradite, and a hold was placed on him. The subject was transported to Hamilton County Jail where he will await extradition.
26-004698 – 3300 BLK Ringgold Road – Traffic Stop / Narcotics Arrest – A police officer observed a white Pontiac sedan failing to maintain its lane and conducted a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle was identified and consented to a search of the vehicle. A marijuana bud was located under the driver’s seat. The Officer then found a hidden compartment in the roof that concealed a plastic bag of marijuana and a plastic bag of white pills which were identified as Percocet. The man was arrested and charged with Possession of Illegal Drugs for Resale.
26-004701 – I-75 Northbound, MM 0.8 – Motor Vehicle Crash – Police responded to a single vehicle crash on the interstate. The driver of a Telsa lost control due to heavy rain and water on the roadway. The car struck a retaining wall which disabled it and the vehicle came to rest on the outside lane of the road. ERPD had to shut down two lanes of traffic while the vehicle and debris were removed. Due to the dark conditions and heavy rain, traffic was impacted for approximately 35 minutes.
