The following information is courtesy of the East Ridge Police Department.

Day Shift May 1: B Squad

26-003989 – 4214 Ringgold Road – Suspicious Package – A Goodwill employee advised he had received a box donation the day prior that contained what he believed to be a fake grenade. He then drove it to the police station where the Chattanooga Police Department’s bomb squad responded to investigate the item. Imaging prompted further action, and the grenade was transported to CPD’s range for detonation.

26-004001 – 4300 BLK Greenbriar Road – Domestic Assault – The caller reported her ex-boyfriend, and his sister assaulted her on April 17. She provided pictures of her injuries along with a witness statement. Warrants will be sought for domestic assault.

26-003990- 700 BLK Germantown Circle- Suspicious Vehicle – While on routine patrol, police observed a white Subaru parked in the church parking lot with a sleeping male occupant. Police contacted the male and observed packaged Narcan, a cap to a hypodermic needle and a syringe in plain view. Officers asked if he was a diabetic to which he answered no. A probable cause search was conducted and the subject admitted to having fentanyl in the vehicle. Police seized .2 grams of Fentanyl, a plethora of needles and other drug paraphernalia. The suspect was issued a citation for simple possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Night Shift May 1: C Squad

26-004019 – 4214 Ringgold Road – Assist Other Agency – East Ridge Police Officers assisted the Chattanooga Police Department in searching for a stolen 2013 gold Toyota Corolla. A man took the vehicle from his ex-girlfriend on 23rd Street and was last seen driving toward Missionary Ridge. Chattanooga Police Officers eventually located the vehicle near Shallowford Road, reference CPD 26-036171.

Day Shift May 2: A Squad

26-004026 – 300 BLK Camp Jordan Parkway – Focused Speed Enforcement – Police conducted focused speed enforcement in this area to address speeding concerns within the park. Enforcement efforts resulted in sixteen traffic stops for vehicles traveling at speeds up to 38 MPH. This initiative increased officer visibility and encouraged safer driving behavior, helping to reduce the risk of crashes and improve safety for pedestrians, park visitors, and motorists.

26-004027 – Spring Creek Road– Focused Speed Enforcement – Police conducted focused speed enforcement in this area due to ongoing speed-related concerns. Officers made seventeen traffic stops for vehicles traveling at speeds of up to 58 MPH. This enforcement effort promoted voluntary compliance with posted speed limits, enhanced roadway safety, and contributed to a safer environment for residents, hospital staff/visitors, and daily commuters.

Night Shift May 2: C Squad

26-004029 – 5400 BLK Althea Avenue – Suspicious Activity – A citizen reported seeing two juveniles wearing masks and riding bicycles through the neighborhood. The reporting party also stated the juveniles were throwing eggs at cars. Police Officers checked the area but did not locate the suspects or any damaged vehicles. Another resident reported the juveniles were hiding behind a house on Oakdale Avenue. Police checked the residence, but no one was found. Later, the guardian of the suspicious juveniles contacted police and requested information on the incident. The guardian agreed to resolve the issue with the unruly juveniles.

26-004035 – 5400 BLK Ringgold Road – Suspicious Person / Warrant Arrest – Police Officers responded to the report of suspicious person at the car wash. ERPD located a man looking for change in the parking lot. Upon further investigation, Police found that he had a Capias for Arrest of a Probationer through the City of East Ridge. The original charge on the warrant was Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card. The man was arrested and transported to Hamilton County Jail.

26-004044 – I-75 Southbound, MM 1.2 – Shots Fired – A passerby reported that two vehicles were traveling on the Interstate firing guns at each other. Police checked the area but did not locate anyone actively shooting at another vehicle.

26-004047 – 4300 BLK Ringgold Road – Unknown Medical – Police Officers were dispatched to an unknown medical complaint at the restaurant. On scene, Police found a female who was experiencing breathing issues. Upon further investigation, it was found the female had ingested THC gummy edibles and was feeling anxiety due to the effects. EMS responded to the scene and transported the patient to a local hospital.

26-004048 – 601 Justice Way – Warrant Service – While in custody at the Hamilton County Jail, a man was served with a Forfeiture Capias through the City of East Ridge. The original charge on the arrest was for Criminal Simulation.

Day Shift May 3: B Squad

26-004053 – 3700 BLK Fountain Avenue – Domestic Assault – Police responded to a reported assault in progress. Police spoke with a party who said her boyfriend was upset that she was on a video call with friends, and they began arguing. During the argument he struck her with a closed hand and choked her. Police observed injuries consistent with being choked. The suspect left the scene prior to police arrival, only to return a short time later where he was taken into custody for aggravated assault.

26-004058- 300 BLK Camp Jordan Parkway- Stolen Vehicle Recovery – A LPR camera captured the plate on a red Subaru Ascent traveling north on Camp Jordan Parkway. The plate was marked as stolen. Hamilton County dispatch confirmed the vehicle was labeled as stolen through NCIC. Patrol located the vehicle with a male in the driver seat of the vehicle with it running in the gravel lot at Camp Jordan Park. He stated he had permission from the rental company to still have the vehicle. Chattanooga Auto Crimes Division stated they could not locate a report on the theft. Chattanooga Police asked ERPD identify and document the encounter. Chattanooga Auto Crimes stated they would follow up with the rental company and later to get the situation resolved. The driver was released from the scene at which time he stated he would return the vehicle immediately until the situation could be resolved. East Ridge police will not be seeking charges at this time due to the circumstances. After he was released and both he and police had left the scene, dispatch advised they spoke with the rental company (Avis Rental Company) who confirmed the vehicle should still be considered stolen.

26-004001- 4300 BLK Greenbriar Road- Warrant Service – A man and his sister were taken into custody on outstanding warrants for aggravated assault. Both parties were transported to Hamilton County Jail without incident.

26-004054 – 3700 BLK Fountain Avenue- Theft – A party came to the East Ridge Police Department to report a theft from her vehicle at the listed address. She had left the windows down on her vehicle on Friday at approximately 1800 hours and discovered on Saturday at approximately 1400 hours that both her wallet and her husband’s wallet were missing. She advised both wallets contained various personal identification documents and bank cards.

Night Shift May 3: C Squad

26-004067 – 601 Justice Way – Warrant Service – While in custody at the Hamilton County Jail, a woman was served with a Petition to Revoke Probation warrant through the City of East Ridge. The original charge on the arrest warrant was Possession of a Controlled Substance.

26-004073 – 6800 BLK Ringgold Road – Attempted Theft of Vehicle Parts – While conducting a routine patrol, an officer observed two young males wearing hoodies near a Chrysler 300 in the parking lot. As the officer got closer, the two young males took off running and jumped a fence that bordered the apartments on Frawley Road. Police searched the area, but the two suspects were not located. Patrol recovered several hand tools that were dropped by the suspects. Officers also found that several small screws had been removed from the front of the Chrysler.

Day Shift May 4: B Squad

26-003893 – 5300 BLK Ringgold Road – Supplemental – Police located at 2005 Honda Accord with plastic tarp covering the rear window after receiving an LPR notification for a theft suspect near the 5400 block of Ringgold Road. Officers contacted the occupant who was observed emerging from the business’ dumpster carrying a clear, plastic bag containing bags of potato chips discarded by the store. CID was contacted and responded to the scene to speak with the subject. The subject’s information was documented, and the car was impounded pending investigation by CID. The man was then sent on his way.

26-004087 – 1500 BLK Keeble Street– Narcotics violation – A man called to report a female had narcotics in his house. He was attempting to assist her with finding housing and sobering up when he discovered burned tin foil in his bathroom. He requested police to assist with her removal. She was found to be in possession of fentanyl and paraphernalia as well as having outstanding warrants out of Marion County. She was taken into custody and transported to Hamilton County Jail.

26-004092 – 400 BLK Cedar Glen Circle – Deceptive Practice – The resident reported a suspect called her home claiming to be with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, stating she was in contempt of court for missing jury duty. The complainant advised she did not pay the subjects, but they did claim they had been surveilling her residence and provided her address to her. Police advised the complainant to call for any suspicious activity.

26-004094-3600 BLK Ringgold Road-Intoxicated Party/Arrest – ERPD received a call from a concerned citizen that two people were nodding off in their vehicle in the parking lot. The occupants stated they were waiting to have money sent to them for gas. Police observed drug paraphernalia in plain view upon initial contact with the subjects. During a probable cause search of the vehicle, officers found several paraphernalia items, approximately 63 fentanyl pills, and an individually wrapped white powdery substance that was also found to be fentanyl. Both parties were taken into custody and charged with public intoxication, Simple possession, and Possession of Schedule II with intent to distribute.

26-004096 – 500 BLK South Moore Road – Disorder – Officers responded after a concerned citizen reported a male and two females in a verbal disorder in front of this residence. It was found that the male was just distraught over the loss of his vehicle. Police asked the parties to address their grievances in a quieter manner.

Night Shift May 4: D Squad

26-004103 – 3600 BLK Altamira Drive – Shots Fired – ERPD responded to the above address for shots fired. The RP stated they heard about 20 shots, possibly from a pistol. While ERPD was in the area, they confirmed the suspected gunfire was coming from Georgia, and the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office was notified.

26-004110 – 5500 BLK Ringgold Road – Unconscious Person – A passerby reported that a male party appeared unconscious inside a motor vehicle at the coin laundry parking lot. The police confronted the occupant, who was sleeping in his car with his dog and his girlfriend. The man said he and his girlfriend were using the parking lot to sleep until Friday, when they planned to move into a new home.
