The East Ridge Fire Department found a man reported missing on a large tract of land along Interstate 75, early Sunday morning.

According to Chief Mike Williams, on Saturday night at 11:30, ERFD were called to the area of North Smith Street and McCall Road in regard to a missing 36-year-old man.

The missing male was last seen in the wooded area that is near interstate I 75. This area can only be accessed by four wheel drive and is approximately 60-80 acres in size with heavy vegetation.

Chief Williams said that a drone was requested from the Hamilton Sheriff’s Department. This drone has capabilities for night operations. Search teams located the missing party who was uninjured at approximately 2:30 a.m. Rescuers then transported the party to waiting family members.

“Good job to Red Shift (fire), East Ridge Police and the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department,” Chief Williams stated in a Facebook post from the City of ER Fire and Rescue page.
