Pioneer Soccer Team Moves to 2-0

The East Ridge High School boys’ soccer team made it two in a row with a 7-1 win over East Hamilton on Tuesday.

Adam Adem, Rijad Kazic and Erik Lopez each had two goals for the Pioneers. Jaime Aguilar scored as well. Kazic was credited with two assists, while Bryan Paz-Macario and Caleb Serrato picked up an assist.

Brandon White scored the only goal for East Hamilton.

East Ridge (2-0) out-shot its opponent, 18-8.

The Pioneers will play on Friday and Saturday in the Soddy-Daisy tournament. East Ridge will host Sequatchie County on Tuesday, March 20 at Camp Jordan Park in a 7 p.m. match

Dick Cook has lived in East Ridge since the Kennedy Administration when his parents bought a house on Marietta Street. Dick graduated from ERHS in 1976 before going on to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he studied Political Science. He was among reporters who were honored by the Associated Press for the TFP's coverage of the 2002 fog-shrouded crash on I-75 in Catoosa County, Dick and his wife, Cathy, live on Marlboro Avenue where they are seen frequently chasing around their three grandsons.
