Pioneers Down Pounders in Boys Soccer

East Ridge blanked Central, 6-0, Monday night in a boys high school soccer match at Camp Jordan.

The win extends the Pioneers regular-season record to 13-2-2 entering the District 8/AA Tournament. East Ridge, the second seed in the tournament will play Hixson on May 8 in the district semi-final game. Kickoff is 7 p.m. at Camp Jordan.

Rijad Kazic and Adam Adem had two goals each for the Pioneers. Kazic was also credited with an assist. Darian Smith rounded out the scoring for East Ridge which had a 14-4 advantage on shots against its opponent.

He was among reporters who were honored by the Associated Press for the TFP's coverage of the 2002 fog-shrouded crash on I-75 in Catoosa County, Dick and his wife, Cathy, live on Marlboro Avenue where they are seen frequently chasing around their three grandsons.
