The following information was provided from “pass along” reports by the East Ridge Police Department.
April 19 Night Shift
3100 Ringgold Road:
Police conducted a traffic stop on Johnathan Black and discovered a small amount of marijuana after a consensual search. Mr. Black was cited in East Ridge earlier this week for several traffic violations as well as possession of marijuana. Mr. Black was taken into custody.
1503 McDonald Road:
Alexis Jordan was arrested for possession of a loaded needle with suspected heroin and a metal spoon with suspected heroin residue. Ms. Jordan gave police false information prior to her arrest. Ms. Jordan had an active warrant for possession of heroin through Hamilton County after she was identified.
April 20 – Day Shift
5346 Ringgold Road:
Police responded with the East Ridge Fire Department regarding a male having a seizure. East Ridge Fire Department personnel and EMS handled the call.
4320 Ringgold Road:
Police responded to an alarm that had been activated at East Ridge High School. There was an event at the school. The alarm had been activated accidentally.
3220 Gleason Drive:
A caller advised of a continuing issue with noise coming from apartment 54. Upon arrival of police, it was found that children were playing. The caller was advised to follow up with management at the apartment complex.
639 Camp Jordan Parkway:
A hold-up alarm was activated at the Chik-fil-A Restaurant. The alarm had been accidentally activated.
1517 Tombras Avenue:
Police responded to the East Ridge Library after receiving a call from library staff. The caller advised that around 9:45 am she was removing books from the outside after-hours book bin and noticed human feces near the top of the book bin. She said the bin was last checked on April 18th around 6:00 pm and that around the same time a female had a verbal disorder with one of the library employees. She said the female called the employee a racist.
1416 Choate Road:
Police were dispatched to the East Ridge Police Department to speak with a complainant. He advised that sometime between April 18th at 8:00 pm and April 19th around 11:00 am someone entered his 2011 Dodge Charger and stole his loaded Glock 21 and holster. The victim said he always locks his vehicle and not other items are missing. The handgun was entered into NCIC.
601 Walnut Street:
Jayda Mayhue was served with an active East Ridge warrant while at the Hamilton County Jail.
1410 North Mack Smith Road:
The caller advised there were several men outside his room threatening to beat him up. Upon arrival police spoke to all parties involved. During the investigation it was discovered there had been a miscommunication between all parties. They were advised to stay away from one another.
April 20 – Night Shift
6721 Ringgold Road:
Police were dispatched on a suspicious person. Police contacted a man who was in the store and advised he was waiting on a ride. Family Dollar employees advised that they were closing and wanted him to move along. The man left the store.
6514 Ringgold Road:
Police were dispatched to the Mapco regarding a theft. Contact was made with the employee who advised that a customer told her someone stole a case of water. The employee advised she didn’t witness the theft. The employee was asked to check for any available surveillance footage that may have captured the alleged theft and, if found, to call police back out to the store.
1500 McBrien Road:
Sarah Woody was arrested on a Hamilton County warrant.
6725 Ringgold Road:
Brittany Defoor was arrested for theft under $1,000 after stealing purses from the Chattanooga Mercantile.
April 21 – Day Shift
1322 Orlando Avenue:
Officers responded to assist East Ridge Fire Department personnel on an unresponsive man laying under a power pole. The man was transported to the hospital for further treatment.
5317 Scott Street:
Police entered the residence at this location and found a male subject on top of a female subject holding her down. The female was holding a glass shard and actively resisting restraint. Officers were able to gain control of the female and place her into protective custody. East Ridge Fire Department personnel and EMS responded to the scene. They observed superficial lacerations to the female’s left arm and right hand. She was released to officers and taken to the hospital for further evaluation.
4200 block of Dupont Street:
A caller advised he observed a green Honda in the area driving on the rim of the vehicle. Police checked the area and located several tracks and debris. Officers followed the tracks east through the neighborhoods to the State Line Road area. The vehicle was located on Burns Avenue in Catoosa County, Georgia. The inexperienced driver had a flat tire and didn’t know what to do other than drive the vehicle home.
1519 Greenslake Road:
A caller advised of a barking dog at this location. Police responded to the residence, but nobody was at home.
323 Camp Jordan Road:
A caller advised she found a purse while walking the track. Police were able to locate the owner and return the property.
6674 Ringgold Road:
A caller at the Rodeway Inn reported a homeless man on the property. The caller said the man was bothering guests and refused to leave the property. Officers responded and encountered Michael Martin. Mr. Martin was placed into custody after the discovery of multiple warrants for his arrest through Hamilton County.
1460 North Mack Smith Road:
A caller advised that a small child had been left in a vehicle for an unknown amount of time. Contact was made with the mother of the child, Breanna Coleman. She was arrested and charged with child abuse and various drug offenses.
April 21 – Night Shift
6805 Martha Avenue:
Tiffany Pickett was arrested for domestic assault after she and her brother engaged in a physical altercation.
941 Spring Creek Road:
Police responded to this location after receiving information that narcotics may have been taken from the facility. Upon arrival police contacted the nursing supervisor, who advised that there were no narcotics taken from the facility. Hospital staff found a sharps container unlocked and thought that perhaps the previous occupants of the room had picked the lock to take dirty needles. Hospital staff just wanted to make police aware of the possibility of dirty needles being taken from the hospital.
3200 Ringgold Road:
A traffic stop was conducted on the driver of a red Kia SUV for an equipment violation. The front seat passenger, Lisa Winder, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, as well as paraphernalia. Ms. Winder was taken into custody.
3657 Ringgold Road:
Police conducted a traffic stop on a silver Kia Sorrento that had a registration plate that didn’t match the vehicle. Police contacted the driver, Marcus Johnson. When Mr. Johnson was asked to step out of the vehicle, Mr. Johnson fled the area at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was last seen north on Germantown Road. Mr. Johnson left behind his identification and warrants are being sought for his arrest.
6514 Ringgold Road: Douglas Loftin was arrested for an aggravated assault warrant out of Walker County, Georgia.
