Police Briefs for April 26

The following information is courtesy of the East Ridge Police Department.

Day Shift April 25

24-005213 – 3500 BLK Ringgold Road – Theft – An unknown male entered the store at approximately 1500 hours and stole cologne and two packs of deodorant with an estimated value of $100. The business was able to show police CCTV footage of the incident.

24-005201 – 6000 BLK Ringgold Road – Found Property – An employee contacted police regarding a customer leaving her wallet at the restaurant. The wallet was turned into Property & Evidence.

24-005207 – 6700 BLK Ringgold Road – Suspicious Person/Arrest – Police responded to this address after a reporting party observed a male acting strangely at the gas pump. Officers located the man who was given field sobriety tests. He was arrested for DUI and possession of Drug Paraphernalia after police located burnt tinfoil in his pocket. He was transported for a medical evaluation and then to Hamilton County Jail without incident.

24-005196 – 200 BLK Eads Street – Vehicle Burglary – While on scene for a separate call, police were contacted by the complainant who reported her white Kia Sorento was entered overnight by an unknown suspect. According to victim, the suspects stole a black backpack containing a black Chromebook and some cash. The computer was later located in Camp Jordan and returned to the complainant. No suspect information currently.

24-005193 – Camp Jordan Park – Recovered Stolen Property – Police responded to Camp Jordan Park, near the soccer fields. An anonymous caller found a laptop in the grass and left it by the trashcan at the pedestrian crossing. The laptop appears to be a Hamilton County Department of Education device later determined the laptop had been stolen from a vehicle (re: 24-005196). The device was returned to the student.

Night Shift April 25

24-005225 – 1300 BLK Boyd Street – Mentally Disturbed – The reporting party called the police because he felt he was being followed. After speaking with officers, he felt safe and left. His cell phone was later located at the scene and placed into property for safekeeping.

24-005232 – 1300 BLK Orlando Avenue – Assist Other Agency – A man was taken into custody for two warrants through Sessions for Domestic Assault and Theft of Property following a traffic stop at this location.

24-005216 – 3700 BLK Anderson Avenue – Warrant service – Following a report assault at this address, a man was arrested for outstanding warrants out of Floyd County, GA. He was transported to the Hamilton County Jail. Warrants for the assault are currently pending further investigation.

24-005224- 700 BLK Germantown Circle- Resisting Arrest / Public Intoxication- A resident reported an unconscious male lying on the ground by the entrance. The man regained consciousness and became combative with officers. While trying to take him into custody for public intoxication, he resisted arrest. He became combative once again while receiving a medical screening. The subject was transported to the Hamilton County Jail and charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.

24-005234 – 1600 BLK Springvale Road – Field Interview – Police observed a man walking down the road at 0200 hours and conducted a consensual encounter. He stated that he had recently been released from custody of the Hamilton County Jail and he was walking to his mother’s house in Rossville, GA.
