Police Briefs for Jan. 13

January 13, 2021 By Dick Cook 0 Comments

The following information was compiled from “pass along reports” provided by the administration of the East Ridge Police Department.

Jan. 11 Day Shift

5900 block St. James Avenue (domestic disorder/mental health consumer):

Police were dispatched to an unknown trouble involving a barefoot white female with blood on her at this location. Police located the female subject on Truman Avenue bleeding from a hand injury and crying. She claimed she had been assaulted by her husband at their St. James Avenue address. Police located her husband, who claimed he and his wife had been arguing for several hours when she broke a mirror and intentionally cut her hand. The male subject provided police with video of the self-inflicted cutting. The female subject, who had been outside with other officers at this time, insisted she did not need or want medical attention for the cut. She also claimed to have a ride waiting on her and left the scene before police knew she had cut herself intentionally. Police could not locate her.

1410 Mack Smith Road (assault):

Police responded to this address regarding a domestic assault. Police were advised that a 17-year-old juvenile daughter had attacked her mother. Police contacted the two, and both confirmed the daughter assaulted her mother. The juvenile was arrested and transported to JDU. DeKalb County officials stated the juvenile is a runaway, and arrangements will be made to transport her back to Georgia.
