Police Briefs for May 21

The following information was compiled from ERPD “pass along” reports.

May 19 Day Shift

22-007076- 1410 Mack Smith Road- AOA Warrant Service-

Deangelo Binford was detained and transported to Silverdale on Hamilton County warrants following a suspicious person call at this location.

No number assigned- 183 I-24 East- Vehicle Fire-

Police were originally dispatched on a two vehicle traffic crash but while en route dispatch advised the vehicles were on fire. On scene the vehicles were located in the 181 East mile fully engulfed. CPD was advised and responded. CFD responded and extinguished the fires.

22-007081- 3200 blk of Castle Avenue- Motorcycle Crash-

A man crashed his motorcycle in the bad curve on Castle Avenue. He was not wearing a helmet. He was transported to the hospital by EMS.

 

22-007085- 6404 Ringgold Road- Auto Theft-

The caller advised an unknown person took his work truck while he was inside the business. On scene police spoke to an employee for Masterscapes Outdoor and Design. The man stated that he and his coworker arrived at this location at approximately 1150 hours, parked away from the building and left the key in the vehicle. He stated when they finished eating the vehicle and all equipment on the vehicle had been stolen. The vehicle was entered in NCIC as stolen. Police also located video footage of the theft at Modwash on Ringgold Road. Police were unable to obtain the video from this business at this time due to a system update. Police have no suspects at this time. Later in the shift at approximately 1333 hours the vehicle and belongings in this case were located at 176 Wilson Street in Rossville GA. The vehicle was turned over to the owner by Rossville Police department. No arrests were made, and the vehicle was removed from NCIC.

22-007087- 3500 block Cathy Lane- Vehicle Burglary-

A subject called to report an unknown suspect entered her vehicle and took her gun. She advised sometime between Saturday and Sunday, a Ruger 9mm was stolen from her unlocked vehicle that was parked on the street in front of this address. No suspect info at this time. Firearm was entered into NCIC.

22-007088- 3700 Fountain Avenue – Fraud-

On scene police met with the complainant. She showed police an envelope from Callaway Golf Company 2180 Rutherford RD Carlsbad, CA 92008 addressed to her. Inside the envelope was a check in the amount of $4,950.47 addressed to her issued by Marcus Martin. The instructions advised the complainant to deposit the check into her account and send a text message to a man at a phone number. Police took the envelope, check, and instructions for East Ridge Property.

22-007095- 7609 Standifer Gap Road- Warrant Service-

James Gibson was transported to Silverdale and served an East Ridge warrant.

Night Shift

1504 S. Smith Road / Arrest-Drugs: 

A citizen called to report a male walking around the businesses in the area.  Leon Dewayne Hudgins was located sitting on a wall near the address matching the description.  Hudgins was found in possession of a handgun, meth, and paraphernalia.   Hudgins was arrested and transported to Silverdale.  Hudgins was also arrested on an East Ridge Alias Capias warrant for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  22-007102 22-007112

Belvoir Avenue / Child Found / Aggravated Child Abuse:

A man called police to report that a juvenile male had been walking through his backyard and then came up to him and asked to use his phone to call for help. He also told the man that he did not want to go home. Police arrived on scene and spoke to the juvenile male, who stated that he did not know where he lived, who his parents were, or what school he went to. The juvenile was transported to the Children’s hospital by police due to observing severe injuries on his arms, back, and rib area. CPS was called for an immediate response and arrived on scene at the hospital. CID Detective J. Massengale was also called and responded. While at the hospital, police received a call from a woman stating that her 12-year-old son was missing. Police confirmed that her son was the juvenile that was encountered on Belvoir. An officer responded to the residence and gathered the parent’s information. Police then accompanied CPS to the residence, where all residents of the home were interviewed. Charges are pending further investigation and forensic interviews. (22-007098)

514 S Sweetbriar Ave. (Aggravated Burglary 22-007100):

The complainant called police after observing her residence had been broken into. Upon arrival, police observed the rear glass door of the residence to be shattered. Police walked through and cleared the residence per the request of the homeowner. While walking through the residence with the complainant, she observed approximately $400 in jewelry, $650 dollars in cash which was located inside of a nightstand, and an electric guitar was stolen. CID was notified, and a report is on file for the incident.

323 Camp Jordan Parkway (Disorder with a weapon):

Police were called in reference to a disorder with a weapon at ball field number 4 after multiple parties got into an argument. Upon arrival, police were advised the parties had separated and left the scene. No further information was gathered from witnesses.

5080 S Terrace (SIA/Arrest 22-007120):

Police were conducting a business check of the AMC Movie Theatre when an individual was observed to be slumped over in a chair behind the business. Police observed burnt tin foil between the subject’s legs. The subject, William Lockhart, was taken into custody for public intoxication and simple possession of meth.
