Police Briefs for Nov. 19

November 19, 2018 By Dick Cook Leave a Comment

_ 4214 Ringgold Rd.: Police responded to the Police Services Center last week on a reported robbery from person. According to a police report, a man told an officer that just after midnight on Nov. 12 he pulled up to his unit at the Lomenacque Apartments driving his Ford Explorer with two of his friends in the vehicle. As he came to a stop two black males in their mid-20s wearing grey hoodies came up and began yelling for him to get out of the vehicle. The man told police that one of the alleged assailants pointed a black machine gun at his face. Another assailant had a black pistol, he said. The man said he jumped from the vehicle and ran into some nearby bushes for safety. The assailants then took off in the Explorer. The man said he ran to the ERPD Services Center and called dispatch on the phone out front. The report states that the victim told police that he has no idea who his assailants were. The report states that little information was provided concerning the two other occupants of the Explorer or what happened to them during the incident. The report states that the victim told an officer that one of the occupants of the vehicle was walking down Ringgold Road. Police made contact with a man who said he knew the victim and told police that “everything was cool.” The man said he did not see anything happen. Detectives responded to the scene for further investigation. The Ford Explorer was entered into a law enforcement data base as stolen.

_ 6514 Ringgold Rd.: On Nov. 13 police responded to the Mapco at 6514 Ringgold Rd. in regard to a theft. Police spoke wit the manager of the store who said that a man in his early 40s was wandering around the store and acting suspicious. According to a police report, the manager asked the man how he could be of help and the suspicious man said he was looking to buy some oil. The manager asked what kind of oil the man wanted and the man dodged the question. Another customer said he saw the suspicious man stuff some gloves into his pocket and quickly walk out the door. He left the scene in a silver Volvo heading east on Ringgold Road. The customer got the tag number of the vehicle and it came back to a man living in Hixson. After police left the store, the manager called and said that he had discovered a wallet and cellphone belonging the suspect on the shelf where the oil is stocked. The report states that the cellphone and wallet was placed in property and evidence and that a warrant will be issued for the suspect.
