Police Briefs for Oct. 22

The following information is compliments of East Ridge Police Department “pass along” reports.

Oct. 21 Day Shift

6708 Ringgold Road (mental illness):

A female was issued a trespass warning from this location after experiencing a possible psych episode.

1506 Fruitland Drive (attempted fraud):

The complainant reported that she received a fraudulent check for items that she has posted for sale. The check was collected and placed into property and evidence.

5815 Ringgold Road Suite 109 (property):

Police responded to this location regarding two possible bullet holes in the front window.  The owner stated he discovered the first hole on 10/9/19, however after learning about the second hole from workers he decided to file a report.  There are currently no suspects, and nothing was recovered from the scene.

300 Dunlap Avenue (suspicious vehicle):

Police responded about an occupied vehicle parked at a residence that was not supposed to be occupied. Police made contact with a black male who identified himself as Devin Sherrell. He stated he lived at 302 Dunlap, but the parking lot was full when he arrived home. While police were running him by name and date of birth he fled off at a high rate of speed almost striking an officer. He fled in a dark grey, unknown model, four door Chevrolet with an unknown tag. The incident was BOLO’d.

Night Shift

Traffic Stop:

Chakia Copeland was taken into custody on two Hamilton County Warrants

Warrant Service:

Tequila Porter was arrested on driving on revoked (capias)

5417 Clemons Road (Theft):

The resident reported that several items were stolen from the front porch of his residence. The stolen items included a chair, two large planters and two extension cords. No suspect information was available.

4139 Ringgold Road (Suspicious Person):

An anonymous person reported that a 38 year old, registered sex offender was participating in a church event. Police responded to the scene and located the male.  Police then determined that the church event was an adults only, volleyball game.  No juveniles were located on the premise.   The volleyball game was also conducted in the evening, an hour after the Child Development Center was closed on the property.  The HCSO Sex Offender Registry Unit was notified of the incident for situational awareness. 

5519 Ringgold Road (Suspicious Person):

William Burke was criminally trespassed from the property of the Tennessee Title Loan.  Burke was found standing next to a dumpster on the property and was trespassed by the business manager due to on-going issues at the location.

941 Spring Creek Road (Mentally Disturbed):

Police were requested by the hospital staff on two occasions due to an unruly patient.  A 63 year old male was experiencing mental issues and required transport to a facility in middle Tennessee.  While awaiting transport, the male became aggressive toward the hospital staff.  The patient complied with the directions of the medical staff once police and security responded to the scene.

 I-75 NB (MVC):

4 vehicles were involved in an MVC at this location. One male driver was transported by EMS to Parkridge East Hospital, for injuries to his forehead, after hitting his head on the steering wheel.

201 Eads ST. (criminal trespass):

Demeektris Lynn Parker was criminally trespassed from Dogwood Place Apartments, By LT Lackey HCSO, courtesy officer.

He was among reporters who were honored by the Associated Press for the TFP's coverage of the 2002 fog-shrouded crash on I-75 in Catoosa County, Dick and his wife, Cathy, live on Marlboro Avenue where they are seen frequently chasing around their three grandsons.
