An East Ridge man is offering a reward to anyone who can find his stolen generator.
Jim Winters, a former police officer for the East Ridge Police Department, said his Yamaha generator was stolen from the bed of his pickup truck parked in the driveway of his home on November 24. Winters said the thief used bolt cutters to cut a heavy chain that was used to secure the generator inside the pickup. The suspect left the bolt cutters behind during the incident.
Winters, who continues to serve the city as the Chairman of the East Ridge Housing Commission, said that he has received little help from the ERPD in regard to the case. So, Winters is offering a $500 reward to anyone who can return the stolen piece of equipment. The generator has a serial number of 7RG220719. Winters can be reached at 423-698-5050.
